ready and willing
so i'm here. my stuff's been unpacked, we have an internet connection, water and electric. things are looking pretty freakin' good here at the reserve. i went food shopping last night for myself which was pretty weird. my mom wasn't there to guide me and pay for whatever i wanted..but i survived and maybe, just maybe, i'll learn a thing or two about being responsible for my own life. my parents have done one hell of a job making sure i don't have to learn anything (take for example, they will be here in about an hour to hang my drapes, my pictures, etc.) they are also bringing along with them my beloved grampy and claude. i found out yesterday that my hermit crabs might not be beloved by all of my roommates, but since the majority rules in this part, they will be here to stay (not to mention my parents are not willing to care for them so they'll be on their way to athens no matter what). i'm in love with my room right now and by the time the 'rents leave today everything will be done. and it will look completely mirabulous (miraculous and fabulous..thanks, mindy). now if we could just organize the living room and kitchen as quickly, a small miracle might occur. but that's ok. i feel a lot better than i did the other day, and i'm pretty sure that's all that matters. as for my mother, i think she feels a lot worse. she was crying yesterday when i said goodbye to her even though she knew very well that she'd see me in less than 24 hours. go figure. apparently some people get really attached to me. haha...anyways, that's the latest and greatest. time to go put the kitchen together...
