so it's thanksgiving. and now it's almost over. just a few more hours and then it's all said and done with and i have to realize that now there will be a short stretch of time where i will be writing papers and reading and studying and completing a portfolio and getting my life together and applying to the college of education. but then when the 15th of december comes i get a clean slate. i get to start all over again and i'm very excited about it. come the 16th i'll be saying goodbye to my fourth graders (which i am sure will break me apart) and saying hello to ocean county new jersey. and hello to rockefeller plaza. hello new york city...a place i love like you can't imagine. and hello to my grandfather who breaks my heart every time i talk to him on the phone.

so until then it won't be so bad. i have to convince myself of that. i'm just going to devote myself to what needs to get done and it will all get done because it always does. i'll never let myself just let something go. i'm far too paranoid about that. and i'll be working at the bookstore for a good solid week because my spending habits are slightly out of control (as usual) and no one around me really feels like saying "HEY YOU...STOP IT WITH THE SPENDING." I guess this will be a lesson I need to teach myself.

so i guess i should take a second before today is done and gone for another year to review the things i'm thankful for (even though it may appear i'm never thankful for anything).

1)stories at the dinner table with my family
2)the friends i know will always be at my side
3)knowing what i want to do for the rest of my life
4)fleece blankets
5)my grandparents (who, whether alive or not) have inspired me every day to become a better me
6)unconditional love
7)being blessed
8)never-ending episodes of sex & the city
9)snow (even if i won't get to see any this year)
10)being alive and well (most important of all)

happy thanksgiving everybody.
