Final Walkthrough - postponed

May 17, 2009 16:42

Well, I kinda called this one.  Once again, the seller almost waits until the last minute to do inspections.

Right now there is concrete that needs to be poured in order to finalize a plumbing project.  The reason they are waiting, is that now they are waiting for the local occupancy inspection to be finalized in order to go forward.  Apparently, he needs to inspect the exposed plumbing before they pour the concrete.  Which means instead of the walkthrough happening today, like I wanted, I get to wait until Tuesday, the 19th, the day before closing.   Which, all in all, is not a bad thing, but it feels like waiting until the last minute.

At this point all parties are waiting to go through with this, but I keep waiting for a last minute gotcha.  In this case, the gotcha may well be the air conditioner.

You see, the A/C is supposed to be part of the house sale.  If he has not  installed it (which he had not last week) then I am supposed to get a credit of some kind.  Since the seller has not been very forthcoming with doing anything "extra" he may start to feel since he spent so much on the plumbing that he may not to spend anything on the a/c.

At any rate, the gathering on the 21st will still be on.  It will either be BYO Chair, or BYO pitchforks and torches.

Mmmm torches.  Nothing like giving the neighbors a taste of what they will be dealing with.
