Being Human
Sam Witwer is starring in the US version of the British TV show, Being Human. This makes the blood freeze, I tell ya.
One of my favorite TV shows of all time is Life on Mars (okay, the ending wasn't as good as the rest of the show). It was so successful in the UK because of the chemistry of the actors and the British public's acceptance of characters who aren't 100% likable.
The US remake was painful to watch: Sam Tyler was confused, but not despondent. Gene Hunt was tough on the outside but kind on the inside. Wrongwrongwrong. In the British version, Sam was straight as an arrow, but not afraid to show emotion; Gene was hard as nails with the mouth of a sewer. A very funny sewer.
So when I hear there's going to be a remake of another British show, I think, "Noooooo!"
Here's hoping for the best. For my sake, as well as for Sam Witwer's career.
