Here I am on my second day in Italy....

There's so much to see here, but interestingly enough not a whole lot to do if you dont have a car to get off base. After my 12 HOUR FLIGHT (!!!!!) I landed on the navy base and was welcomed by almost the entire band :-). That really made me happy to see that they really do put forth a serious effort to welcome a new person. I was assigned a sponsor and for the past couple days he's been showing me around the base and helping me get everything squared away. I really appreciate everything he's done for me, and he also just seems like a really cool person....a little too church oriented for me but nobody's perfect ::shrug::.

This really is my first days as a "serious" professional, and I've already begun to put major pressure on myself. This is my actual real job and its kinda blowing my mind. I have to succeed there just isnt any other choice. I dont know if I can deal with just doing\being the average and maybe a little more. I have to be noticed, rewarded and I have to be the best. In just these few days I'm beginning to see this as being a possible flaw in my personality...::sigh::..oh well. Im going to start studying for the advancement (promotion) test this march, working out daily and putting in some serious practice time - so it looks like I'll be busy huh? Also maybe a class or two in some basic skills like writing and math would be good too...hmm.

Anyway, dont be too worried I plan to have a little fun to. :-)

I really hope everything is going well for everyone who is reading this. I wont have internet or AIM access in my room for a couple of weeks I guess but it is on its way and when it returns I can actually check my email again!! (dont ask why I cant check it now...grrr....its has to do with government business).

Thats all for now I guess, arrivaderci :)
