Season 6, baby!

I'm on episode 5 (which is just getting exciting!) and thus far impressions are favourable.

Jonas is completely adorable. Honestly, he's like a dorky little alien puppy who just wants to be loved. And the smile, ahh, the smile.. Not to mention the logical mind that leads him to ask how the Stargate got into the mountain. I've wondered that myself.

However, I do feel the urge to rant a little about Frozen, mostly about Sam. Why, when Janet Fraiser realises that Ayiana is alive, does she immediately call for Sam to help her? I'm perfectly willing to accept that Sam has genius level intelligence, but she has a Phd in astrophysics, for dear sake. So yes, she's very good at maths and physics and it is highly likely that she has some knowledge of biology from science courses at school or uni, but she is not a medical professional! Even if, as I assume, all Air Force personnel are given basic first aid training, there is no logical reason for her to a) know as much as she apparently does about medical procedures or b) be involved in every medical crisis that occurs in the SGC. This seems to be an ongoing theme in the show and it's been bugging me for a while now. Janet has Awesome Medical Expert covered. Why must Sam have yet more ways in which to impress us?

Secondly, in what way can the whole "It may be your only chance....Sir, please" thing be construed as letting Jack decide for himself? Playing on his sense on duty, pleading with him, not taking no for an answer, all of these phrases spring to mind more readily than would 'accepting his decision'. On the other hand, Abyss. Which I have actually seen before but am now about to watch again, just because I can.

As for episode 5, I enjoy the odd predictable plot twist as much as the next person, but antibiotics and vaccines? Not the same thing. At all.
