Well now, seems like I have some more stuff to report. I had a post written up half way two nights ago, but my brother kicked me out of the bedroom before I could finish it and I shut down without saving my progress.
Kung Fu was put on hold inadvertantly as I missed the past two sessions. The first time, I had a valid excuse, as I had to attend a family thing for my little cousin's confirmation (that's a religion related thing) - the second time round I decided I preferred sticking around at Brian's house for an extra hour instead of leaving early for training. Honestly? I think I made the right choice. Tonight I'll be attending the session as I don't want to ruin it all now - unfortunately I hurt my knee yesterday and I want to make sure it's perfectly cleared up before I strain it any more. My ankle, which I sprained a month or two ago, is also playing up from time to time, so I'd rather try to stay light on that. I'll speak to Luke about it tonight and see what he thinks.
As for the visit to Brian's place, it was great as usual. It was loads of fun filled with guilty gear slash (Brian's gotten good at that game - he beat me many more times than I beat him), ghost in the shell, and other random stuff, mostly consisting of me talking incessantly. That pint of beer we had when we arrived sure got my tongue rolling. And turned my legs half way to jello, but that's besides the point. After we were done enjoying ourselves, we got down to discussing how we were going to sort out starting to learn Japanese. Keith was there too, incidentally.
I've made some really good progress on the picture I started work on some time ago, and it's quite close to completion now. I'm experimenting with a new method of shading, and so far it's looking pretty damn awesome. Hopefully it will work just as well on the last part of the picture, which is proving to be a bit of a hassle. This is the first time I ever regret the way I've designed my avatar, as it's been hard for me to get all my markings and fur looking just right. I'm looking forward to seeing it finished, either way. Hopefully it won't take me too long, although I did the largest part of the work over the last 3 days, so I think it'll be done by the end of this weekend. I might upload it someplace for you to see, but I'm warning you from now, the subject matter is very very sensitive and might offend some people. If I do, I'm not responsible for your reactions.
I also got down to dusting off my furaffinity.net account (username chocolatekitsune, for those of you who are interested) and getting it into gear. Admittedly, I only posted one picture so far, but I want to keep the reposts to a minimum. I'll be posting more stuff once I get this picture done, so I can post that as well in a semi-major update.
I got my copy of Brain age last week too, and I have to say it is a very fun way to keep your mind active. I'm still doubtful whether it's helping my brain, or just me getting used to the exercises involved. Either way it's great - it's only a shame that there are just 100 sudoku puzzles, and the random generator only returns easy puzzles to be solved. I always enjoy a challenge.
To summarize all of my experiences and achievements in the past fortnight of vacation I've had - All these projects I have planned for myself are basically to try and shed this lazy, "I'm fine just procrastinating at my PC" attitude I've cultivated over the years. While I'm managing to tear my ass off my computer chair from time to time, it's always with this feeling of "Do I really have to?" deep down inside. Whenever I got away from having to go out or do something I had planned (like the Kung Fu sessions I missed and the time we didn't go swimming because my brother was ill) I'm always met with this amazing sense of relief. Is it possible I hate doing anything at all so much? I mean, it's not like I never get any enjoyment out of these things... Man, I fucking hate how the human psyche works. It's all so stupid.
Incidentally, I've introduced a new tag for any comments I might have on the projects overall. I think 'comments' works just fine.
