Boy, when it rains, it kicks up a storm.

This morning I had the 5th of 6 exams - Wait.. let me rewind a bit.

Last sunday I woke up with a horrible pain in my right shoulder. After some time it migrated to my chest and it's settled in since then. I got it looked up on Wednesday, and the doctor told me that it's an infection which can be treated with antibiotics. Well, he was right - I had an infection. But I had it before the pain started. Anyway. I continued treatment and this morning I felt much better. Unfortunately, while the pain faded, I was feeling terribly out of breath. I went to take my exam, while the sensation of being out of breath just kept escalating. By the time I read the title of the first essay, I could barely hold up my pen. Fortunately, I asked to be excused cos I couldn't stand it any more. The prefect of discipline was nice enough to buy me some water and the assistant head gave me some salts to drink down. I dodged a bullet that time, as within a minute or two I felt great. I went back into the examination room and finished on time. I think I did pretty well too. ^_^

Well, after the exam, I went to the hospital (after some other visits) to take an x-ray. Apparently, the infection subsided. Only that caused a puncture in my right lung and it's collapsed. I go in for surgery on Thursday and I think they'll be keeping me in for 4 days after that. I'll be fine, but.. quite a miserable fortnight, don't you think? :P

But also, don't worry about me. It's gonna be a mere keyhole surgery so i'll only have two tiny holes at the side of my torso. very minor pain if everything goes according to plan, and it will, seeing as I'll be in the hands of one of the best cardiopulmonary surgeons in Malta. ^_^
