My husband had these conversations with his co-workers yesterday:
Co-Worker: Blah blah talk about music.
Husband: My wife has been listening to My Chemical Romance.
Co-Worker: What? Is she a fifteen year-old girl?
... later in the day ...
Different Co-Worker: Blah blah, you should teach your son about Rush.
Husband: My wife's got him listening to My Chemical Romance. She likes them.
Different Co-Worker: Really? Is she a fifteen year-old girl?
*headdesk* Honestly. When I was a fifteen year-old girl, one of my most favorite songs was Skid Row's Youth Gone Wild. How is it surprising that I would like Teenagers at thirty? My musical tastes have never grown up. I still listen to Weezer, Green Day, the Foo Fighter, Counting Crows ... all people that I had CDs of in high school. MCR fits right into the mix, they just weren't around back then to be grandfathered into my music collection.
