God. God. I will admit that I had been hoping so very much that you would receive my prompt, and counting down on the authors who had posted, my hope grew, but then I thought, no, this is presumptuous - and lo and behold, I was right to hope after all and that's just marvellous.

This. This is everything I could have possibly wanted and more. It is a testament to how marvellous this story is when I don't even remember my damn prompts and don't even care because this story touched upon everything I could possibly want from a story.
The despair, the incredible UST, the road-trip feel of it, the drawn-out fight against the inevitable, the quietness, the beautiful, beautiful description of touch ...
I am awed, impressed and not in small part in love with this.
(You also get such a giant bonus for placing the first part in NC, and particularly Durham - which is the one city in the USA I visit at least twice a year because my SO lives just outside of it.)
