Its Thursday and i decided to go for a timing jog to reward myself for attending 100% of the lectures.
Ran my usual around-the-block circular route around the neighbourhood and i keep track of the time to push myself further for today's jog.
It was my 2nd round and i was about 50m away from the traffic light and i saw these 2 old man(age about 50+) just finish crossing. The saw me incoming and as a form of courtesy, i decided to slow down and let them pass the path, but end up he saw me slowed down and he also gradually slow down and come to a stop, so i picked up my speed to quickly pass then and so can let them continue with their journey, when i was almost infron of him he then started to walk again and i quickly do a side step which almost caused me to sprain my ankle else i would have definitely ran onto him. Guess what, he gave out a loud 'HAIZ' and gave me the annoying stare!
Seriously, i don't own you Mr old man anything and i even gave you the chance to cross and now YOU almost bang into me and you still want to give me the annoying 'HAIZ'?! Can you imagine if i didnt side step and banged into you, you could have been injured and lying down there?
Another example which also piss me off in my daily life is this, especially when taking public transport, more often happen inside trains. Those Older Uncles or Aunties would rush into the train and look around for seats, sometime the reserve seats might just happen to be empty even thou the train is filled with a few commuter standing, the Able body uncle or auntie would squeeze through you or push you away just to chiong to that seat, this is still not the most annoying part, the more annoying part is when they are about to reach their alighting station they would then get up and then push and squeeze through you to go directly infront of the train door so as to be the 1st to alight. Seriously sometime i do wonder whats the rush, so issit that they know that their 'time is up' soon so they so kiasu and kan chiong.
One more would be seen easily especially at Bus stops. While waiting for bus, again the older uncle and aunties would occupy the bus stop waiting stools. Yes we are more physically able and fit so its okay to be standing to wait for the bus arriving. When the bus is seen arriving, crowd will form up to get ready to board the bus and these Uncles or Aunties would then get up their seats and again Squeeze and Push you aside just to be right infront of the edge of the curb to be the 1st to board the bus. Is there SERIOUSLY such a need? what if you are accidentally being push and fall out of the curd and being hit by the arriving bus? Do you know how dangerous it can be? If you dun cherish ya life its okay, but think of the trouble everyone has to go through if there's really an accident, think of what will trouble you would have gave to the bus driver.
Our Society always remind us to treat the old people with respect, cherish them, learn from their knowledge and life experiences. So is that what they want us to all learn and end up being like them? I'm not against the old people its just sometime they always think that the whole world owns them a living and like to give the stuck up attitude as if they know everything. But hello, if they would just wake and and open their eyes and see we actually dun necessary need them, things have evolved and changed, your prime is over. Is more of a actually that we are accommodating you into our daily life, you are actually bringing us problems with your stubbornness and ignorance. Life will still goes on or could have been even be better without your presence. Therefore when one is getting old, if you does not know how to adopt and evolve with the society, and contribute your valuable experience and knowledge to those around you, you are actually deem useless. One must know how to age gracefully instead of ending up being a burden to those around you.
Yeah i know im a little harsh here and Yes, one day i would turn old, but i post this up so when one day i reach that age, this post will always serve me as a reminder that i do not one to become like one of them and also i do not wish any of my friends to become one of them.
