I found out the reason my computer crashed for the second time. The first time, they put in a non-apple compatible hard drive in my apple computer. It was an APPLE store. So I'm not altogether sure how they even had a non-apple compatible opperating system in the first place.... argh. But oh well. I guess it's not that big of a deal; I had the majority of my stuff saved on an external hard drive, so I didn't lose TOO much. Life goes on.

The band camp experience was a success. The other 17 staff members were pretty cool. I felt that the head directors really knew what they were doing, and everyone brought a different area of expertise to the table that allowed us to *hopefully* provide a memorable and fun (though hard-working) week for the students. My flutes were all so cute... there were two juniors, a sophomore, and six freshmen (all girls). They were hard workers, but knew how to have fun too, so it was a nice balance. The conference retreat center at which we stayed happened to be the same one as the host of the MCF retreat freshman year of college, so it was weird to be back at first (kind of cool though!). It's a nice campus--all the buildings have air conditioning, the food is really good for a feed-mass-amounts-of-people cafeteria style dining hall, and the staff lodging was basically a hotel. As always, for more details, ask.

I just got back from the Cleveland Symphony Orchestra concert at Blossom Music Center. It was AMAZING!!! They played a Bizet Suite, a Ravel piano concerto (the slightly more classical-based one, though there were still some cool jazz influences, plus a KILLER bassoon part...), and they finished with the Berlioz Symphonie Fantastique. I was very impressed by the english horn player--the tone was so round and dark. I'm jealous. Haha. Anyhow... it was fun to hang out with the Pohly's again ("Pohly want a cracker?" mwahahaaaaa). I even ran into Ms. Merchant which was quite an excitement. I got to tell her all about the Dijon trip. And she's got SEVEN kids in AP French this coming year! Simply amazing. Sorry for not talking to you as I conversed with my French teacher, Devin! Hopefully it wasn't too boring... hehe. Anyhow I had a great time, and thanks again for you and your family coming with us again this year!

p.s. the birds seemed to chirp and just the right moments at the concert... especially during the pastoral-type music! It was pretty much the coolest thing ever. =)
