Reita wanted to go home.
He wanted to soak in a warm bath, go down to the konbini, get some beers, and waste his night away watching sappy romance dramas.
But Reita didn’t have a home, or a nice bathroom to relax in, nor could he go down to the rental store on the corner of his old apartment to chat with the familiar sales person while he looked for something to ease his boredom.
No, what Reita did have at the moment was a very happy, smiling drummer who was getting way too lovey dovey with his tall, gangly, flashy, raggedy looking boyfriend whom Reita had the pleasure of calling Miyavi.
Really, why was he wearing such torn up clothing? Outside. In the winter. Reita would never know, nor did he have the curiosity to ask. He had decided long ago to leave the strange musician and his odd ways alone.
But he was a bit too flashy for Reita’s taste. What with that rainbow colored head of his, multiple piercings and tattoos, and oh, his clothes! Those raggedy, hobo-looking clothes! Reita wasn’t much of a fashionista, but he did not like the type of clothes Miyavi wore. No, he did not. As said before, way too flashy in Reita’s opinion.
But then again, their own blond vocalist was a heck of a lot flashier than that tall crack head. Yes, Ruki did have a style of his own, sparkling like some 100 karat diamond everywhere where he went. Ruki sparkled so goddamn much he might as well invent his own universe and place himself in the center of it all. Hmm, the idea to dress Ruki up as a big shiny gold ball was a very interesting idea to Reita. It’s not that Ruki would have minded anyway. He definitely wouldn‘t object his favorite color, and the idea of getting to be the center of his very universe wouldn’t go badly with that self-obsessed chibi either.
Getting back to the matter at hand, however, Reita had two grinning fools standing in front of him.
That is, two oblivious, grinning fools who did not catch the fact that Reita really did not want to stay in that parking lot for a second longer. All he wanted was to find Aoi and Uruha and beg them to take him home. Not the begging in the perverted sense…oh no Reita would never do something like that. He was absolutely, without a doubt ,straight.
Don’t get the poor bassist wrong now. He was really happy for Kai, even though it was totally out of the blue about his new found relationship. But he looked really happy, and kinda ditzy like he had consumed way too much apple juice, but happy nonetheless so Reita was okay for now with Miyavi. But really…gosh…he just wanted something to eat!
“So…”Reita started to say. He didn’t want to be standing here all night looking at the oblivious couple while his poor stomach was crying of malnutrition. “Now that I know who your mystery person is, do you mind if I go find Aoi and Uruha since I’m staying with them?”
“Oh yeah, sure! I was just about say you should go rest since you don’t look to good anyway. Besides, I feel half dead too” Kai smiled tiredly at the bassist, while hanging on to the flashy, too-bright being next to him.
Pfffft. You’re tired? Then why in the heck would you schedule back-to-back interviews and photo shoots all in one day? Reita sometimes wondered what was going in Kai‘s ditzy head. The kind, caring mother hen image was sweet and all, but when momma hen got all riled up it was hell in the chicken coop for everyone around him.
“Yeah…see you on Monday, Kai.” Reita turned around, waving.
Okay, now I just need to get my bass and I’m off. Reita walked through the parking lot and into the warm studio. He was walking down the hall when he realized the missing presence of the two guitarists. Where could they be, he wondered. They better not be having sex in the studio room or in the bathrooms again. Reita thought sadly about the poor make up girl who almost died of shock after she found Aoi and Uruha going at it like the world was going to end the next day in the dressing rooms.
“Those two….” Reita grumbled under his breath, reaching the door to their studio room.
Walking in Reita saw no hint of any signs of life, so he walked across the room to pack up his equipment, humming quietly to a very off tune version of one of their new songs.
“Well, hello there.”
Reita turned around, noticing Ruki sitting in one of the dressing chairs by the mirror. “Uh, hi,”Reita spoke slowly. “I didn’t see you there.”
“Well, obviously you didn’t,” Ruki grinned and hopped off the chair. “Or else, you wouldn’t have been trying to sing that song which you don’t know that well yet.”
“Shut it, smart ass” Reita pulled his tongue at the younger.
“Yeah, yeah. Whatever. Are you going down to the parking lot right now?”
“Yeah, Aoi and Uruha should be waiting for me.”
“Excellent! Walk with me.” Ruki smiled and started picking up all of his belongings.
“Uh, yeah sure,” Reita walked over to the door to wait for Ruki.
“Lets go, Reirei!” Ruki skipped past the taller, pulling his arm and dragging him down to the parking lot, as he prattled non-stop about the new horror movies he wanted to see.
“Oh! And I must get a new puppy too!” Ruki said as they reached their destination.
Reita looked at him, “Why the heck would you want another dog?”
“Because!” Ruki huffed, “Koron needs to have a friend! The poor thing is all alone at home when I’m not there.”
Reita stopped in his tracks and looked at the chibi as if he just sprouted two more thick heads. “You’re hopeless,” he muttered as he walk towards Aoi’s car. “He probably relishes the time he doesn’t have a maniac like you coddling him.”
“You’re just jealous you don’t have a cute dog like Koron, you noseless buffoon!” Ruki yelled at Reita’s disappearing back.
“See ya,” Reita sighed, rolling his eyes. Reaching the car, he saw that Aoi and Uruha were already seated and waiting for him.
“Took you long enough,” Aoi stated as Reita got into the car.
“Sorry man, I was looking for you two, but then I bumped into Ruki at the studio room.”
“So,” Uruha grinned coyly, “What did you and your honey bun talk about?”
“Honey bun? What the hell are you talking about?” Reita looked perplexed.
“Nothing,” Uruha smirked, catching Aoi’s eye, and sat forward in his seat as the car took off.
Reita sat back in his seat muttering curses at the man in front of him, while Aoi sped through the busy streets in search of the nearest Denny’s to satisfy the whining grown man in his backseat.
