Well I haven't posted anything in a while and since my comment would have been far too long I decided to just make it an entire post. Now then onto the prompt:
If you had to go on a perilous, difficult, epic quest on foot and you could take four other people with you, who would they be?
The Rules:
1. You have to know them personally.
2. They have to be real(otherwise I would just take several Squalls), and
3. It's plausible that they would go with you. Meaning, you're either good friends or you're at least acquaintances and they're particularly self-righteous or chivalrous and wouldn't abandon a person in need. On the other hand, if you have an extremely practical friend who would never do something like this, then you can't take them.
Handicaps:
1. Each person would acquire some sort of power relative to whatever their talents or interests are. For instance, if someone did martial arts, they would probably get super strength or super speed or something like that. If they're really smart, then they would probably be a magic user. If they are particularly kindhearted and wouldn't hurt a fly, maybe they would be a healer of some sort. This way, you don't have to base your decisions solely on fighting ability. Now you can take skills(like cooking or camping) into higher consideration.
Things to Take into Consideration:
1. This is an arduous quest! Not for the weak of heart or frail of body! Don't just take somebody that you like. Pick people that would handle something like this well.
2. You'll probably want some variety in your party.
3. Assume this is in a different(but similar) world. So, prior cultural knowledge, language talents, and affluence won't help.
4. Be realistic! Well, as realistic as this allows.
I'll countdown from my fourth choice to my number one. Ya know, just to build up epic tension.

JAMES LEE
All great teams have the one arrogant, stubborn, asshole who everyone either loves or hates because they know that even though he's stuck up he kinda deserves to be--this is James Lee. He's got the physical characteristics but I'm sure that James could learn some basic elemental magic here and there (#3 could teach him), and the team would also need a really assertive hot head in case we get into any sticky situations where we need to demand something but the rest of us are all to passive aggressive to do it. I also feel like James would be a really good person to kick someone (at least me) back into shape if their resolve is down. Ya know, like in the final epic battle when the main character's lost all hope, there's that one person who just goes up and punches them right in the face and tells them to stop acting like such a shrimp, stand up, and FIGHT!!! James would be very good at that.

DAVIS
aka my Latin teacher :P
This may seem strange, but I can definitely see MD making a kick ass wizard. He'd be master of all elements (fire, water, earth, lightning, etc) but he wouldn't be very good at healing or dark magic just because he's Davis (you understand if you know him). He gets really excited and into things and he knows a lot about mythology so I'm sure he'd be able to predict and decipher oracles and things like that, and he has an almighty set of Latin Virtues which as we all know are essential to a successful journey.

ALEXANDRA GUNTHER
Every good party needs a healer, but THIS party has got something even better! THIS party has a healer WHO CAN ACTUALLY DO OTHER STUFF!! That's right, my healer has high strength and defense quality ;D Alexandra is my old Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles buddy so when I say I know her "adventure style" I like to think I know what I'm talking about lol When I picture her I think of someone who can physically pack a punch with super speed as opposed to magic, but I also feel like she'd make a really good healer, yet I can't see her using element/dark magic. She'd definitely work best with a spear, which is pretty funny since that's the weapon Lilities use haha. Spears have the long reach and I think she's got the dexterity to do cool tricks 'n such, and that in itself would be an advantage because if we ever ran out of money we could be street performers and Alex could just do spear tricks and use her awesome acting skills! Oh and she's also a good smooth talker so ya know, if we were ever haggling or making an EPIC COMPROMISE with the enemy, Alex would come in handy.

STAN HEARD
Yes, another one of my teachers! He's my video production teacher but he used to be an English teacher (he got excused because too many parents were complaining that he was too hard, and kids didn't understand his witty sarcasms, but the school liked him so much that they wanted to keep him around anyway lol). Honestly, this choice was a no brainer. Mr. Heard actually came into my honors english class today and talked about Moby Dick, and it was THE BEST PERIOD OF MY LIFE! Seriously, he had the whole class laughing the entire time and I learned so much from just one 45 minute period. As for abilities he would definitely be a dark magic user, but depending on which universe you base your world off of this could mean different things. The way I'm thinking is just purely dark element magic (like Magus from Chrono Trigger, or the element type they use in Tales of games). Dark magic just suits him so perfectly because he's so crass and sarcastic and, in the universe I'm thinking of, it's the most powerful magic so he would just be far superior to everyone, like he is in real life. Mr. Heard is also epically intelligent so he'd be good for knowing how to cheat the system, and he's also really funny so he could help out in that street performer gig. All in all, the reason why Mr. Heard is my number 1 choice is because, honestly, no words could ever describe how much respect and adoration I have for him. He is a genius in every sense of the word, and I am so thankful that I took video production this year!
And that's my party. I really wanted an archer because I fell in love with Rolf from Fire Emblem Path of Radiance, but I don't think any of my friends would make good archers xD So anyway those are my picks, now tell me yours!!
