Ah, after reading up on the various options for it...I really like the idea of Red XIII's Limit for you. Red XIII's Limits are primarily offensive-based, though there is the choice for options that increase his and/or the party's stats in certain instances as well so you could have the option for that if you later on thought that might be a better tactic in a fight. Only one of his moves, Howling Moon, gives him a Berserk status...though it is a later move of his Limit Break and given the nature of the Limits in FFVII and the variety the "levels" have, you'd have a lot more options left to choose over that one. His attacks are quite powerful even at the earlier levels, and some of them attack single enemies or whole groups of opponents (his final attack, Cosmo Memory, hits multiple enemies for the same amount of damage the whole way through so there's no worry about multiple attacks weakening the overall strength of the assault). Red XIII doesn't even have to be close up to his opponents in order to use some of his moves, as he dashes towards enemies for them and then runs back rather quickly or moves such as Stardust Ray and Cosmo Memory have him hanging off to the side and attacking from a distance with non-elemental moves. All in all, I could easily see Red XIII's Limit being a really good one for you!

At the same time though, I also think Edgar's Tools might be a good Limit for you as well. You mentioned not being opposed to using technology during fights...and the Tools moves can inflict status effects on opponents, can be used from a distance, can be very offensive-based depending on what tool you're using, and have a lot of variety to them in terms of what you can use them for during fights--and for some reason, I keep picturing that level of versatility appealing to you somehow during a battle! I could easily see you using both Edgar's Tools and Red XIII's Limit in a fight rather effectively! :D
