People are installing carpet in our house right now. Unfortunately, my dad has a habit of ignoring problems in the belief they'll go away, so when the carpet people took off the carpet, that piece of rotten subfloor my mom has been nagging my dad about for months was discovered to be worse than we though. Even more unfortunate, is that neither of my parents is home now, so I get to deal with.
How do I deal with it.
I let the people install the carpet even with our rotten subfloor, because that's what dad told me to do. But I've given up on either of my parents having the balls to deal with shit like this on their own, and not putting it off on each other, so I now have an appointment with a contractor to come and take a look at it.
And I swear, if I hear another, "its fine the way it is," from my dad, or "its a man's job," from my mom I'll hit something. I really will. Most likely the wall, which will end in pain and humiliation, but still. HIT.
On some cuter news, I've gotten five phone calls from my nephew in the past 24 hours asking me if I've bought a Yoshi costume for him yet. He wants it for Halloween. Or October 30th. Whichever one's sooner. :)
