[pic fic]hard to say goodbye
I was in the verge of completing this fic in this chapter but i have thought how my master Jaceni always tells me: make the transition subtle. This will be the turning point of the story and I hope I am not getting an X for this. But if ever I didn't meet your expectations for the story and I made you confuse, my apologies.
Jaejoong didn't sleep the whole night. He was observing and still watching Min when suddenly the younger guy talked in his sleep.
Jaejoong got scared how he will handle Min's hunger and rushed to the kitchen to check for noodles or quickie burger but they already have eaten the groceries they bought. He grabs his jacket and left to buy food for breakfast when he bumped into groups of men he doesn't want to meet. These men were too familiar for him but he decided to talk to them amiably.
Jae: I have talked to Uncle about it. Why do you have to check up on me every now and then?
Man: Because he doesn't like you to play around too much. He needs you to finish this work now. We will be moving back to set-up the laboratory. There will be no more extension this time.
After a few minutes, the man and his friends walked out in another direction then Jae received a call from Min checking up on him.
Jae sent a message saying that he will be back in 20minutes.
Meanwhile, Changmin looked at the sofa and there were no traces that someone had slept on it. He looked at the clock and it's only 5am. He wanted to go back to sleep but he wanted to ask Jaejoong why he left.
Min: He slept in my room? *While having this in his mind, Jaejoong appeared restless; he has a to-go coffee on his left hand and a bowl of noodles at the other hand. He shared it with Min who looked suspicious all of a sudden.
Jae: Sorry I didnt leave a note after leaving. I heard you said you are hungry while you are asleep. I bought noodles for you. If its ok, I will leave earlier than you to check my house first.
Changmin's eye got wide and grabbed the noodles. In the middle of eating, Min realized there is only one bowl and got shy while he enjoyed the food.
Min: But why am I the only one eating? I don't want you to leave without me. I could finish this in ten minutes.
Jaejoong sighed and just watched Min finished his food. Min rushed to his room to get his duffle bag. Jae can't still explain how he could tell Min about the situation without him being so concerned.
Jaejoong: Please don't hate me.
Jaejoong asked Changmin to wait at the doorstep first so that he could arrange the house first. There are some things he has not taken off or put to safety. He hates answering questions from Min which he might answer honestly and the consequences might be a little disappointing. Once he got rid of the things he doesnt want Min to see, he checked up on Min again and was shocked to see one of their "men" talking to Changmin.
Man: I am sure you will like to come with us.
Min: Ahh..Jae..
Man: I am Jae's friend too. It's nice to meet new..*the guy was cut off by Jae*
Jae: One more word or I will make sure there will be no trace of you ever existed.
Changmin just looked at the scowling man and disappeared onto their faces. Jaejoong's transformation made Min a little scared. He followed him inside his house and started questioning some weird things happening to his friend.
Min: Ahm, if I am correct, he was one of the suspects I saw on the newspaper. He knows about you?
Changmin stuttered and Jae cannot help but just light a cigarette. He tried not to sound panicky and smoking slightly calms him down.
Jae: I guess lying should stop right here. I am not the goody two shoes you have in your mind right now, Min. And yes, he is the one on the newspaper and also one of the leaders in a group where I am in. You have two options right now: call your brother or leave silently as if nothing happened.
Changmin swallowed his own saliva and slowly sweat trickled on his neck. He is not liking Jae's transformation but his brain stopped from analyzing the current situation and decided to ask more complicated questions.
Min: So are you saying you are here because you are part of their team? If you will give me those options, you might want to drag me out of here.
Changmin's lips are still shaking...his whole body is not so good in hiding his actual condition. It was quite a shock to see Jae being not his usual self but he is waiting for this moment when he finally opens up to him.
Jae: Some parts I told you before are still true but some are distorted. I am not included in the manufacturing of drugs if you are going to ask about it but I was here because of two things: recruit and study. Meeting you and Yunho was not part of the plan. Now I have to stop it or I might not protect you or Yunho.

Changmin is in a state of shock right now after hearing Jae's life story. There are more questions forming inside his head but only a few slips out from his mouth.
Min: So you are saying that after you meet us you want to changed your life? So why leave? Yunho and I can help you. Ara noona has friends from the bureau who can explain to you how you can be of help to stop your grand dad. Escaping isn't the best option.
Jae: I wish I could give you more details but telling you more about it is like dropping more bombs. There has been a lot of damages already. I am thankful that you haven't asked a cop to put me to jail right now. I am also afraid of hiding once again. I wanted a fresh start but they won't let me escape that easily.
Min: I will help you change your life, Jae. Ending your ties with them should start from you. Honestly, I don't want to lose you.
Changmin's words definitely struck Jaejoong this time. His brain is slowing down and wants to end ties with Min and Yunnie but after Min's sentence, he has found the right words to say.

I don't want to be rude to you but we are running out of time. They have been giving me warnings every hour and I don't want to scare you more but they might not be too friendly after the next warning.
Changmin is beginning to realize he is going to watch Jae pack his clothes and leave immediately. He looked around and try to remember some of the memories they have shared inside the house. It was hard accepting the new information Jae is telling him but he cannot control him.
Min: Is it okay if I could still call you once in a while? This is not totally goodbye, right?
Jaejoong fished out his duffel bag and sighed. he wrote a number and address. He slowly gave it to Min.
Jae: I will use this number for now. It is untraceable either by the feds or my granddad. I will contact you first before you contact me. I might stay in that address for a while to plan about my change of life. Always stay with your brother and don't walk alone. They might observe you and your brother after I leave today. If its okay, please warn Junsu too. I am sorry to drag you into this.
Min: I think meeting you has a purpose, Jae. I will wait for your call. If you won't call me within a week I will haunt you down.Now go. I will just a grab a taxi. Please be safe and stay away from those men.
Jae: Good bye and thank you, Changmin. I really want to see you again. I hope the next time we meet, I won't have my dark past haunting me again.
Jaejoong and Min parted ways in the parking lot and he saw Jae being dragged by two masked men in a car. Changmin hides from the possible kidnappers and flagged a taxi. His heart is still racing while thinking of Jaejoong. He was happy to see Junsu in his house with his hyung and Ara.
Junsu: Extended honeymoon with Jae? Why am I sensing that your proposal didnt end the one you want it to be?
Yunho and Ara are both clueless about Junsu's sentences but Changmin cannot lie to them.
Jaejoong is in big trouble and I wanna help him. Is it just to let go of a fugitive because you love him?
