ick! is for rat
so, i had a great time out with the ladies the other night. sadly, karaoke was moved to saturdays, and beth and i didn't get to sing. we're going to get there again before the end of the summer. at least that's the plan.
cody was put to sleep on friday. al and ray surprised us by coming home for the weekend, because they decided they couldn't be in the house alone yet. it's too sad for them, and they needed to be around people. so, we're thrilled to see them, despite the sad circumstances. we're all comforted by the thought of cody getting into trashcans and causing trouble up there with licorice.
yesterday was bathroom demolition day. daddy and i tore everything out and piled it out for the trash. i got first swing at the tub and managed to break the sledgehammer after the 3rd hit. fortunately, i also got through the cast iron on that one, so daddy was able to break it in half. i have to say, as fun as wrecking stuff was, it wasn't nearly as therapeutic as i had expected. it felt good to get the old cleared out and ready for the new, but that was the extent of it. i'm just not stressed enough right now to get the full benefit of tearing things apart. it's nice, for once. this summer has been tremendously good for me.
