the running noses around school have proven quicker than i. despite lots of handwashing and hot tea, i've been tagged by the circulating cold. it has to happen at least once a year. fortunately this time is not in the middle of finals, as my colds so often like to disrupt them. my sniffles in addition to this miserable weather make me extra grateful for hot showers and not having to pay for water.
right now i am wrapped in a warm sweater with more tea, being soothed by the hum of my new air purifier. it may not really be doing anything, but just the noise is so calming. it makes me feel healthier to think of all the germies and dirties being helpessly sucked into the filter. poor dakota, though, seems to be afraid of it. we're working on it. if i sit on the floor w/ her and rub her tummy, she'll slowly edge closer to it w/ me. we've made it to the corner of the bed. only a couple more feet to go. oh, the power of a tummy rub.
okay. i'm hungry. i guess. or maybe just wanting more tea. both necessitate a trip to the kitchen.
