Although I cannot offer advice for the new device, I can tell you that I understand your frustrations. The color of your image should be what you actually see. If you wanted the color to be something other than that of the photograph, you would edit the photo. It shouldn't be the other way around. I have a Samsung S20 Ultra Note and prefer the photographs that takes (most of the time) over my iPhone 11 Pro. Shrug. I don't have much experience outside that.
Either way, I think buying the phone and testing it out is your best option. Just make sure you purchase from a place that has a return policy in place.
That's interesting because I was told that the iphone always produces the most natural looking photos / colors. *shrugs*
I went into a store and also tested out a few devices, but obviously I was limited to indoor photography so it's hard to tell. I did get a good overview of what's currently available, what's trending etc.
If you pay a premium price you can get a great phone with stunning cameras ... Problem is if I pay like 1200€ for a Samsung ... that will probably fall apart in 3-4 years .... for the same price I could buy an iphone and that will most likely last longer. ^^;
I actually love my iPhone, but there is something about the Samsung camera that takes stunning photos outside. I prefer the Samsung for outdoor photos, but my indoor photos do look better on the iPhone. I wasn't thinking about it when I made this comment, but I did develop some issue with the portrait mode on my iPhone and it could be passing through to the phone itself. I absolutely adore the photographs my sister takes and she has the iPhone 11 (not even the pro). Part of it may be me, too.
I will say that I do believe that iPhones tend to last longer than android phones (based on my experience working at AT&T for five years). That being said, any phone can last if you know how to treat it and you are certainly the type of person that does that. Nobody can hold onto a Samsung S7 for as long as you did. :P
No the iphones all have really great camers, no doubt about that. So, it's certainly not just you. ;) Samsung seems to have this extreme color rendering ever since the last few editions and a lot of people don't like it.
The one I have is too extreme in some settings and in others it creates boring and pale looking photos. A good camera should have a steady performance, though. :)
Haha, if the GPS antenna didn't break I would have kept it for another year. ;) But now that I've seen what cameras on phones can do nowadays, I don't wanna go back to my old phone. ;)
I'm still doing a LOT of research. Still not sure which one to get, but I guess I just have to grab another one and compare and then make a decision. :)
I wish I still had the comparison shots that I had. I was trying to determine if I wanted to keep my iPhone 11 Pro as my daily phone or my Samsung S20 Note Ultra. I can say that I did decide to keep using the iPhone, even with a few of the struggles that it has given me. I'm sure even if I went to Apple, they would help me out.
I'm sure whichever phone you decide will be the right phone. It sounds like you're putting forth a lot of effort into the pros and cons. I can't tell you how many times I received YouTube videos when trying to determine for myself!
I've seen so many comparison shots and videos on Youtube, I just can't .... anymore .. my mind is about to blow up. Haha. :)
I think I have narrowed it down to 2 phones I wanna try. Just need to decide which one to get for now and if that one isn't the right one, I'll try the other option. ^^;
