[Travel]: Italy Trip October 2020 - South Tyrol Part 2

Nov 26, 2020 19:26

Hello!~

First of all, thanks so much for all the kind comments to my last few entries.

I'm really happy to hear that you're enjoying these photos.

So, let's continue with my Italy trip, shall we?

On my third day I stayed in Meran, first checking out the spacious and beautiful gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle.

You can really spend several hours there. They have different themes and regions in terms of plants.
In above photo you see rice fields. :)

What a lovely idea. There were so many cute flowers blooming there although it was already quite chilly.

The castle itself which you see on the upper right was housing a restaurant and a museum about tourism. :)

This is the view onto parts of the garden from in front of the castle.

Later that day I walked through the city center of Meran to enter the "Tappeiner Trail".
This trail lies above the city of Meran and leads you along part of the city with stunning views.

You don't have to walk the entire trail, you can stay close to the city center for the best views, but I did walk almost the entire trail that day.

The next day I got up early and my first stop was Lago di Tovel.
It's a beautiful lake with a massive mountain range in the background. Autumn colors also were almost at their peak.

The lake is at a high altitude and also crystal clear as you can see.

In the morning hours the water was still, so I could take some great mirror effect photos.

As I arrived very early, there were almost no people around at all. Pretty cool!

I circled the entire lake once.

As the sun came out more and more, I even went along part of the trail once more to take some photos yet again.

As you can see the water wasn't as still as before anymore, but still what a beautiful scenery!!

I then had to move on as I still had a few more lakes I wanted to see, but I did stop quite a few times along the way as the scenery was stunning.
I just had to stop and take photos! Don't blame me! ^^;

There were so many sights along the way that I didn't even plan to go to, but they were literally on the road I was taking, so I just did a few quick photo stops. :D ....
That's Castle Belfort in the photo above.

Random shot along the way.

Next I arrived at Lake Molveno. Again stunning colors.

As you can see the weather wasn't that great, but I can imagine how awesome this must look in good weather! :)

The next lake I checked out was Lago di Tenno.

Just look at these amazing colors!

So, that concludes day 3 and 4 of my trip. I left South Tyrol after that and moved on to Verona.

I'm throwing in this photo of Trostburg in Brixen because this is also in South Tryol although I took that photo on my last day - on the way back to Germany. :)

Stay tuned for more photos!

Bye~chuu
