Hello!~
I still haven't finished sorting my Italy photos, so please stay tuned.
But that's actually a good thing, because it means I've been too busy with other things - good things. :)
The weather got nice just in time for the weekend again and so I just HAD to go out and enjoy the few hours of sun we currently get.
I'm also currently at my father's house and thus in my home region.
I don't know yet how things will turn out, but life will not continue like before and I don't know if I'll get another chance to explore my home region in the next few years because of that. :/ .....
Anyway, on Saturday I decided to go on a light hike.
Yes, we're in a partial lockdown, but we're not forbidden to leave the house. It was only a 25 mins drive from home, so I even stayed close to home.
Some cows were greeting me near the parking lot and so the light hike began.
It took exactly 4h. As I slept in it couldn't have been a much longer hike as sunset is currently before 5 p.m. anyway. ^^;
It was also the last weekend of autumn holidays here in Bavaria, so I expected it to be very crowded, but it wasn't that bad.
Well, I chose a not so well-known hike after all. :)
After hiking up for a while - and it was quite steep - I was compensated for my hard work by this great view!
View onto one of our many lakes.
And then I reached the peak.
Not very high, only about 1500 m.
But still offering a nice enough view, I'd say.
And that was my Saturday. :)
For Sunday I decided to actually get up early because I wanted to go to a popular spot ... and it was Sunday, great weather and the last day of autumn holidays .... so I figured I had to go early and that was a good decision!
I went to Hopfensee (Lake Hopfen) which is close to the popular Castle Neuschwanstein - so a lot of tourists usually also go to this lake on their tour.
Okay .... we're starting now with wearing masks outside in Germany as well ...
I mean ... I get it in crowded city centers, but outside in the nature where you don't run into many people? Hmm ....
I mean ... why should I wear a mask when I'm the only one around???
Anyway, it clearly states to wear the mask covering your mouth and nose. Yet I saw later quite a few people (I'd say about 40%) who didn't cover their nose. I just don't get it .....
In the morning I actually walked away from the popular lake to visit a smaller lake that's a bit hidden and definitely not well-known by tourists.
In summer you can apparently swim there. I just enjoyed the autumn colors there before I moved on.
A small graveyard for the people who died of the Black Death in the 17th century.
Then I reached the highlight of the day, castle ruins with lovely views onto the lake and the nearby mountains.
It's not very far to Austria from there.
And you can see Castle Neuschwanstein from there. I circled it. You could see it quite well in the distance with your bare eyes.
I took a short lunch break there. As you see I climbed up the castle walls to sit there. No worries, that's actually allowed, they're quite sturdy.
Yes, it's definitely autumn. :)
As I still had a bit of time at hand, I decided to do a full loop around the lake which took a bit more than 1,5 hours.
Just enjoyed the various nice colors that autumn has to offer on such a fine day.
And the full loop was completed. At that time there were a LOT of people around, so it made sense to wear a mask at the short trail next to the main road.
I even spotted 2 police officers checking up on people. I hope they scolded all those people who weren't wearing their masks above their nose!!
Just when I was about to leave it got cloudy, perfect timing. :D
I had to go back because I was meeting my little cute niece and her parents for coffee and cake that day.
It was such a lovely weekend and it was EXACTLY what I needed!
You know how miserable I felt after coming back from Italy, especially because of the lockdown + the shitty weather.
I can survive on the fact that we have a nice weekend (meaning with good weather) here and there, but nobody can guarantee that unfortunately. :/
I just recharged and feel great! Let's see how long that can last!
I also asked my friends if they'd be interested to meet up online for cake and coffee on a weekend with bad weather and some seemed interested, so let's see how that goes.
We all need to see how we can get through this.
P.S.:
Okay, so there's one LJ friend and we've followed each other for about a decade now - if not longer.
We've commented on pretty much every entry of each other. We also follow each other on Instagram.
Out of the blue she removed me from her f-list on LJ. I tried to contact her as I thought it must be some kind of mistake.
As I can't contact her on LJ anymore, I tried to reach out on Insta, but no response whatsoever which makes me think that it wasn't a mistake after all.
What totally blows my mind is that I have absolutely NO idea what caused this.
We were always getting along so well. I have absolutely no clue why she removed me.
I mean ... if there was something in one of my comments she didn't like, she could have just pointed it out instead of instantly removing me.
Is that how you treat people you've been following on LJ for a decade?
I'm baffled.
I'm not saying her name as a lot of you are also friends of her and I don't wanna cause any kind of drama.
It's just ... this has never happened before and I'd like to know at least WHY, please??!!
Anyway, I hope you all had a great weekend?
I bet for most of you in the U.S. it must have been a great one? :D ..................
Bye~chuu
