Hey everyone!
It's this time of the year again! It's my first long winter vacation ever since I moved to Japan.
So far I never had more than 1 week of vacation!
I've been really looking forward to this trip. It took a loooooooooooooooong time to plan everything because a lot of flights and rental cars are involved this time.
I just hope everything will work out!
And just like
last time (summer vacation) and the time before that (Golden Week) I got sick again!
The last few times I got sick the day / night before I had to leave. Last time I had to sacrifice one travel day and went to the doctor on the first day of my vacation.
After that I was luckily quite ok.
This time I got sick quite a few days before - although I tried so hard not to get sick (wearing masks, washing my hands 100x/day, gargling etc.).
I went to the hospital, got an infusion and 6 different types of medicine.
I just hope that with that I can survive the next two weeks and I hope it won't get worse!

Janine Ippei @ Flickr This vacation means a lot to me as it will be the completion of my goal to VISIT ALL PREFECTURES IN JAPAN!
Once I'm back, I will have been to all 47 prefectures in Japan!
I might as well finish another goal of mine: visiting 100 Japanese castles (but as I haven't been able to update my list in ages, I lost count for now ... I need to check once I'm back, but it's possible that I will have reached 100 by that time).
And like always the weather forecast also doesn't look good!
Snow and rain for Saga Prefecture and freezing cold weather.
Okinawa will be warm, but windy and rainy (so nothing like in the photo).
I'm not giving up hope, though. If there's just 1 or 2 days with good weather so that I can take a few photos like the one above, I won't complain!
I'm already used to being sick and having bad weather - EVERY.SINGLE.TIME!
I even have a nickname: ame-onna (雨女, rain woman)
Because rain and typhoons really seem to follow me like WOAH!
What are your plans for your winter vacation?
I hope you're luckier than me!
Happy Holidays and see you again in the new year!
