[Japan Life]: Spring Vacation, Wii, Tripod

Mar 06, 2011 22:08

It seems it was raining almost everywhere in Japan today?!
I couldn't do my laundry because it was only nice when I had to work, but kept raining or snowing on my days off recently. (-_-
)
I wanted to go out for a walk again, but if the weather is THAT bad, I rather stay inside

Just some random updates.
I finally finished planning my
spring vacation
(which is in about 3 weeks from now! wow!
)
This time I'll visit Takamatsu/Marugame/Kotohira (Kagawa), Kurashiki/Takahashi/Tsuyama (Okayama), Tottori Pref. and Matsue (Shimane). As you can see it's not as crazy as my winter vacation.
I've been in Okayama in spring 2 years ago, but not in the areas I'll visit this time! Everywhere else I haven't been before!!

I still want to visit some more parts of Kyushu (Kirishima, Miyazaki, Yakushima) so badly, but I can never seem to find the right timing!! Winter and summer don't seem to be the best time to go. I think between spring and summer or summer and autumn would be best, but as I have never more than 2 consecutive days off, it's almost impossible!

Wakayama and Fukui Prefecture still have to wait as well as almost everything beyond Tokyo (Tohoku / Hokkaido). Still so much to do and to see!!!

I want to slap myself for not knowing about the JR-West Railpass last year or 2 years ago.
Would have saved me a lot of money! This time it's probably not worth the money. The Seishun ticket will probably not pay off either, but I have to calculate again to be sure

It's scary after my knees, my face is next!!! It's like the second I turned 30 my body decided to start falling apart!
.....
Now, I don't only have to go visit a orthopedist, but also a dermatologist! *sigh*
I'm not exactly sure what's wrong, I have some pimples on my cheeks/nose/chin, but my cheeks also seem to be red and strange. I have to admit that I had a bit of stress in the last few weeks and I also have my period right now, but it's the first time that I have problems like this.
I researched and found something called "Acne Tarda" - which seems to be a form of acne that starts at the age of 30-40! HOMG!! I hope it's not that!

I already have no confidence at all anymore anyways, this would kill the tiny rest completely, I guess. *mumbles* guess that's what Japan turns you into .... a tiny grey shy mouse with no confidence ... I mean I can't even remember when I last had a boyfriend (<- liar!) and here in Japan all Western men are only interested in Asian women and all Japanese guys DO stare (but just like all Japanese kids, old people, women) - they are not really interested or too afraid of Western women ... [/self-pity]

Right now I'm trying to not stress out about it because I'm sure that would make it only worse! I don't think it's any of the cosmetic products that I use because I haven't changed those, I haven't eaten anything strange, I haven't used any new towels or anything .... must be my hormones, I guess.

I want to buy a tripod for my DSLR (FINALLY!!!
) - but I have no clue WHICH ONE or how to decide!!
For now I don't want to spend tooooo much money. As I mainly will use it while travelling it should be light (max. 1kg) and compact, but also when set up fully have quite a good height (eye height would be perfect
). I know that there's probably no tripod that matches all thes requirements, but if you know any that would get even close, please let me know!!! Slik seems to be a good brand and it's also available here in Japan.
If possible I'd love to get one soon, so I can still practice a bit with it before my spring vacation starts!

Project: get social and get to know more people is slowly progressing

I'll hopefully meet up with kanefunnn in Osaka when I go visit Toma's butais and thanks to somebody here on LJ (
) I also got in contact with a Japanese who lives quite close to my city.
Once I'm back from my spring vacation new courses in the community center will start as well and I'll join AT LEAST one of them (though like I already mentioned before, the one I was most interested in was already full and I'm still on the waiting list
).
I'm still looking for gyms. One doesn't look too bad (only 1 train station away), but almost 9000yen/month???? That's crazy isn't it???!!!!! I wouldn't use it every day anyways (probably more like once a week or so ... they have a 90min/day plan where you "only" pay like 6000yen/month, though) ....
Anyways as my body seems to fall apart, I think I really should start doing something NOW!! Not necessarily a fitness club. I love dancing and am looking into dancing schools in the area, but I also want to do something I can do at home (maybe while watching TV). Anybody here does any exercises at home (where you wouldn't need any or a lot of equipment!) or anything and can give me some suggestions please??

While thinking about it I saw a commercial for Wii "Just Dance" on TV and I suddenly thought it might be a good idea to purchase a Wii.

There are several problems, though. My apartment is EXTREMELY small. It's a Japanese Wii and Japanese games which I can't use once back in Germany. This is not only about regional codes, but also about electricity (even the plug connectors wouldn't fit!!! voltage is different etc.)
It's probably a waste of money. Anyways, what do you guys think? Worth buying for what I want to do with it?
Maybe I should find out if it's possible to rent the Wii + games somewhere and try it out first. I know it's possible in Germany, so it SHOULD be possible here in Japan, ne?! (^-^'')
.....
I'm not a gamer at all, so I would only be interested in Wii Fit, Just Dance and stuff like that ^^;; ...

Today I was able to check quite a few things on my to-do-list, but it still doesn't seem to get less. This is really frustrating.

Days just pass by and it seems like I just don't get things done. I really need to do something about that. I can't remember when I just sat down the last time and watched a drama or a movie. Just sitting down and relax while watching something!
I don't think I'm extremely busy. Maybe I just want toooo many things at the same time?! I have no clue :/
ARGH!!! And I haven't even returned to my Japanese studies yet!! This is ridiculous!! What the hell keeps me so busy? I even slept less this whole week in order to get things done (maybe also one reason for my skin problem ..)

Believe it or not, that's it for today. No photos, but a lot of ranting.

Thanks for reading and if you have any suggestions or recommendation on any of these random topics, I would be VERY grateful!!!
