[Japan]: 3rd anniversary!
Things have been so busy that I barely had time to post this entry.
I'm also not so satisfied with this year's banner, but oh well.
It definitely feels like some time has passed since I came to Japan this tme, but still not really like THREE years! Wow!
I'm trying not to repeat myself, so you might wanna read about my 1st and 2nd anniversary
Also, I'm not really in a good mood right now, thus I shouldn't really write this enty NOW as it will influence what I write, but it's not like I can wait a few days, the anniversary is TODAY!!! :/
This third year was definitely different from my first two years in Japan in many ways.
In my third year friends from Germany came to visit, my brother came, too.
For the first time ever I discovered the beauty of Japan's autumn (so late!
) - and discovered also new things about Japan.
My Japanese studies finally paid off as I won a speech contest and passed N2.
I did a lot of things for the first time this year, like climbing Mt. Fuji!!
I met Ikuta Toma live for the first time!
It was also the first year that I didn't go back home at all! I didn't leave Japan even once!
Although all my journeys within Japan were awesome so far I think the ones I did this year had the best highlights: Kyoto in spring, Maiko dressup with friends, climbing Mt. Fuji, snow monkeys in Nagano etc. AWESOME!!
As most of you know this year was full of up and downs - way more than the first two years.
I suffered a lot during the extremely hot and humid summer 2010, I felt lonely like WOAH and was lost about what to do from now on (whether to stay in Japan or not / whether to move within Japan or not).
Well, the longer you stay the more you have to think about various things that are not important if you just stay short-time.
I think my 1st year was good because there were many new things, but also a lot of problems. My 2nd year was okay, but my 3rd year was really nice!! Not sure if my memory is correct, though, but that's how I feel at the moment!
My resolutions from last year:
- Study Japanese as often / much as possible and take (and pass) N2 (the new 2kyuu) in July (and maybe N1 in December) (failed, only passed N2 and didn't study as much as I should have in general!)
- join some kind of club/activity (calligraphy, sports etc.) (failed!)
- Move my lazy body some more (SPORT!!! Slacker!!!!) (failed!)
- Travel even more this year (as it MIGHT be my last in Japan!) (OK, not as much as I could have, though!)
- Get involved in the social life here more (or at all) (failed!)
- Better time management skills! (failed²²²²)
UWOAH!!!!! Maybe I should stop with my resolutions as I suck BIG TIME!!! (O___O'') .... even less than last year!!
Oh well, let's give it another try:
- Study less Japanese but without any breaks
- Join some kind of activity (yoga, calligraphy, fitness club)
- Get out there and get to know people (so I won't feel lonely anymore!)
- Explore Japan even more (travelling, culture, people)
- Travel outside of Japan to somewhat nearby countries (China, Korea, Singapore, New Zealand, Australia etc.)
- Figure out what to do next (aka where to live / what kind of job to do / leave Japan: yes/no etc.)
- Improve my photography skills
- Become a better person in general
- Not getting upset
about every tiny thing (partly already managed to do this this year) - Reduce internet/pc use
I don't know what I should expect from my 4th year. I hope it will be a good year, of course.
I want to work towards some positive changes in my life here and I hope everything will work out. Guess that's all
