[Japan Food]: My month in food!~

Nov 05, 2010 00:30

Hey there!

I'm extremely busy this month as you all know.

So this will be a quite random and short entry.

I took photos of what I ate last month (of course not every day
) to give you an idea about my unbalanced diet XD

That's how my breakfast usually looks.
Cereals with milk, soy milk or yoghurt and some fruit (usually apple or banana and kiwi, sometimes kaki, pineapple or whatever is in season and cheap).
If I'm super tired I drink coffe, but I rarely do. I try to avoid it. So in 99% of the time I drink Japanese green tea (
mostly sencha, ryokucha or genmaicha).

As my job starts in the afternoon I usually can eat lunch at home, too.
This is how a typical lunch looks in hotter seasons. I try to get my hands on "dark" bread (not unhealthy white bread).
This is very German, I know, but .... as I miss German food that's a good solution ;P
I usually always eat at least 2 different types of vegetables for lunch (if it's German style like this). Usually it's carrot and cucumber because they are cheap. Need more variation. I love red paprika, but they're sooo expensive here!! (200yen for ONE??!!!)

(That was a day when I had to eat up leftovers, so my lunch turned out to be quite a ... lot XD)
Sometimes I also make salad. That time I used yellow paprika, tomatoes, green olives, cucumber and carrots. Yummie! :3

Sometimes when I go shopping before work, I buy lunch.
This was from a buffet in a supermarket, so I could choose whatever I wanted to have in there. Yummie :33

Dinner I usually can't eat home, unless it's a day off. As we can't leave our workplace we have to bring our dinner.
Usually it's a premade bento like the one above. I try to avoid the convenient store ones and get the fresh ones from supermarkets that you have to eat on that very day or they'll expire :D

If I'm home for dinner, it's usually something really simple (I can't cook!!!
). Pasta and the likes!
I try to avoid fast food / instant food, though.
In the picture above I made rice. I used "rice cereal", so it's healthier to eat because I usually use white rice, not brown one.
Then, a half-boiled egg + natto and two vegetable balls (they're bought and frozen, so I just microwaved them).
And a yummie yoghurt without sugar (which is sometimes hard to find in Japan - they do like their
sugar in everything ... ewww!!)

I love nabe!!! I just ate it a few days ago on an after-work-party, but I never make it for myself. I don't even have a nabe pot and stuff .... and it's not worth making it for only one person anyways ;P

On my days off, I sometimes also have an "afternoon break" with cappucino/café latte etc. and something sweet (cake, cookies etc.)
In this photo there's also "Baumkuchen". Japanese people seem to love it and it's from Germany - and I never heard of "Baumkuchen" (well, not really) before I came to Japan (only in NGE! Any fans here?! XD)
They're always surprised when I tell them that it's not really that popular in Germany and just one cake among many others XD And they also understand once I tell them that "Baumkuchen" means "tree cake". Well, you can tell just by looking at it's shape, right? ;P

Today I had traditional Japanese sweets: Mochi (*__*)v

And I also just found two new yummie flavors! :3
Royal Milktea Latte and Crème brûlée Latte!! (^-^)v

I also stocked up on tea. Most of the fruit teas are actually from Germany which I found out later XD
It's still not enough, so probably I'm buying some more tea soon. Hey, winter is loong!!~

Germany vs. Japan! Germany wins!!~ Naaa~ when it's about cereal bars etc. Japanese ones just can't win!!! XD Sorry!!!~

Okay, enough food for today

After the extremely long and hot/humid summer it finally and suddenly cooled down - and extremely fast, too!
It's freezing cold at night now. I can't imagine that it still had around 30°C a month ago. CRAZY!
Anyways, the good news: I got out my kotatsu and am drinking Yuzucha almost every day!!! Yay (^-^)v

The autumn leaves are finally turning red, so hopefully I can plan my autumn 1-day trip (or so) soon. Busy, busy~
(This photo was taken from my balcony with superzoom, sorry for the crappy quality XD)

And another good thing about this season is that the sky is clear almost every day and even if not, the sky colors are always so beautiful.
(A photo taken from my balcony a few days ago.)

And now two things that piss me off:

  • #1: What the fuck is suddenly wrong with the userpics here on LJ??? I only have these stupid numbers, I can't recognize which icon I'm gonna use. THIS SUCKS!!!! Do I have to type new keywords for all my icons now?? WHYYYY???!!!! Big fail! Or am I the only one having these problems?? :(
  • #2: The sale of my stuff is pissing me off. It's always been busy and I shouldn't have restarted it during such busy times, BUT this time it's like 90% of all people who "want" to buy something from me seem to make fun of me. Asking one thousand questions, asking for so many different options and in the end, they're not buying anything. Most of them are just saying that they don't have any money. Well, if you don't have any money what the fuck are you doing in a sales entry anyways??? STOP STEALING MY PRECIOUS TIME WILL YA???? I don't care if they read it, what they do is just ridiculous. I mean I can understand that there are some circumstances that might prevent you from buying something that you want sometimes, and that's not a big deal, but 90% of all possible buyers??? ARE YOU KIDDING MEEE???!!!! *sigh* :/ This sucks.

Anyways, that's all.
Gotta go back to my studies
(or rather to bed soon
).
Byeboo ヽ(〃^・^〃)ノ チュッ♪
