Enough with the dreams, enough with all the rubbish entries, here's one that will blow your mind. Well no, but still, it will be slightly better than the previous entries. Maybe.
This summer I've done a lot of painting. Which has been really really dull. But I was too lazy/unfortunate to get a summer job so I had to settle for helping dad for money. painting for hours, in the hot, blazing sun. And wasps. I hate wasps. Terrified of them.
We went from red to white, painting this 150-year-old house in the countryside dad's been restoring for the last 12 years or so. It doesn't look 150, and we've got some modern stuff in there so it's not that bad. But no internet as of yet!
First coat of paint, easy, the red bits are the ones you've not covered. Second coat, easy too because the red can vaguely be seen through the white. Third coat, you haven't got a clue as to where you've been with the brush because everything is so white!!!!
I've not had any money so I've not been able to go anywhere exciting, so there's been few highlights this summer. None, in fact. It's been the dullest summer in the history of Jan-summers (not to be confused with Anne Summers, different person :P).
My brother's getting married on the 26th this month and some friends of his will be staying at our house for a couple of days during the er process (I thought they'd stay a whole week but it's only for two-three days, apparantly). Guess whose double-bed they'll be sleeping in. Yes. Mine! Grrrr. So I have to sleep in one of the spare rooms. Since my 'flat' in the basement is really dull I've put up no less than twelve posters, five in the bedroom and seven in the living-room.
Bedroom:
- Homer Simpson as 'The Scream', the famous picture by... er... that bloke who might possibly be Norwegian and whose name I should know because I am also Norwegian. Grieg, no, he was a composer, er, um, Munch? [research this] [pretends to write in hand, 'could be funnier']
- Little Britain (Andy and Lou)
- Green Day
- Hooligans / Green Street (film with Frodo Wood)
- Nightwish
Living-room:
- Doom (was only the equivalent of 40p otherwise I'd never buy it haha)
- Scarface
- The Godfather
- A History of Violence (with that Aragorn bloke)
- 101 film quotes
- System Of A Down
- Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit (or as it says on MY poster, 'Varulvkaninens Forbannelse' :( ...)
I've watched a lot of films lately, A LOT of films, um, I'll try to list them as best as I can, in a random order:
Clerks
Chasing Amy
Dogma (oh er for some reason my list seems to be going alphabetically. not sure why! will change this)
Mallrats (see? I changed it)
Jay and Silent Bob Strikes Back
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark (is it Lost? I think it is)
An Evening With Kevin Smith
Superman Returns
Speed
That's all I can remember at the moment.
I ordered a new phone, a Nokia 3120 with a Tri-Band as it's called, which means it can be used in 'Merica. I'm toying with the idea of going over around March/April when I have 3 weeks off to see various people, the ones I met up with before and quite possibly some new ones. It might get a bit hectic seeing one might be in Illinois, one in Philly, one in Florida and the rest in Indiana. I'll have to save about £900 to manage, probably. Was thinking of ten days over there. It's just an idea, nothing decided as of yet, depends on whether I can actually save up enough cash to go! I'll know more around Christmas.
September is coming up which means I'll be going back to England to continue my studies. Yay! Which means I'll be amongst friends again! Whoop whoop!
First of all, I'll be heading back to Crewe with my parents (of all people!) because they want to see how I live my life or something, after that I'll head down to Canterbury to see a musical, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, with my friends Clare and Sam. Then it's back to Crewe to relax for a couple of days before enrolling.
I've been invited to Clare's birthday party where I'll have to dress up. I know just the thing, it's a surprise hee hee. 'Twill be held in January or February, during a weekend, naturally. So I should be able to go!
That's it for now, grawl and meep to you all xXx
