Day 7: Yoko :)
Yokoyama Yu likes to keep his rose-tinted glasses on most of the time. Sometimes he would take it off - but only for a little while. Because to Yokoyama Yu, people would enjoy life more if they don’t think about the bad things all the time.
Yu doesn’t understand the bad things that people say, or more specifically, he doesn’t understand why people are willing to hurt others by saying those things. To Yu, there’s always a good point in people.
Yu doesn’t understand why there are people who condemn his friends.
They said that Ryo had a freaky smile. But to Yu, Ryo had a very charming smile. A bit bratty maybe, but still charming.
They maliciously whispered that Subaru is plain weird. But Yu thinks that Subaru is just unique, that’s all. It would be boring if every one in the planet acts the same way.
They often complained that Shingo is too violent with his tsukomis. But they didn't know that that’s Shingo’s way of showing his affection, to acknowledge other’s presence. That’s just how Shingo is.
They laughed at Shota and said that he’s not a man since he wears skirts and manicures. But to Yu, manliness isn’t solely judged by physical appearances alone. To Yu, Shota is the manliest person he knows. Even with the girly appearance, Shota still stands up and defends his friends when the time calls for it. And that, Yu thought, is what makes a man.
They complained that Maru isn’t funny at all and should just stop trying to be funny. But to Yu, Maru is one of the funniest people around. He really doesn’t understand why the people say that he isn’t.
They said that Ohkura was too lazy and is not doing his job properly. All he did was to sit and stare into space. But Yu knows that Ohkura is just participating in his own way. Ohkura doesn’t talk much but when he does, it’s something golden, and for Yu, that’s enough.
What’s most hurtful is that there are people who think that Kanjani8 is made up of seven freaks. But to Yu, Kanjani8 is made up of seven unique people. And even though Kanjani8 is made up of seven very unique, very different people, somehow they gelled together pretty well. And even that, Yu could see without his glasses.
