Title: Odd One Out
Pairing: none
Rating: G
Summary: Ohkura sometimes feel left out.
Author's Notes: phew! I made it just in time :)

It had always been like this. He could only watch them from afar as they laughed and teased each other. He wanted to take a step towards them but he couldn’t. His feet just wouldn’t cross that damn line. Even though he knew three out of the seven them, he couldn’t bring himself to join them. The seven of them looked so strong together that he was afraid of slitting in between them. He was afraid of being flattened if he did. He didn’t want to be the odd one out. So he just stood there and watched.

Even during concerts, while the rest of them are all dancing and singing and jumping around the stage, he would be stuck at the back, playing his drums. He wanted to join them - to sing and dance and jump around the stage as well, to make the fans scream. But he couldn’t. He had the drums to play.

He didn’t like the feeling of being left out. He’d thought that they didn’t see him as a part of their group. He’d thought that they’d saw him as nothing else but the drummer boy. The seven of them had been together for so long that he felt that he was just an extra tyre.

He wasn’t as funny as them. He wasn’t as loud as them. He wasn’t as interesting as them. Those thoughts filled his mind every second of the day, even when he’s not with them.

He wanted to find a balance, to try to fit in but he didn’t know how to.

That is until they reached out their hands to him.

“Come and play with us, Tacchon!”

“It’s all right. You don’t have to be shy, Tatsu.”

And suddenly, he didn’t see himself as the boring Ohkura Tadayoshi any longer. Somehow when he took their hands, it fit perfectly. With those hands in his, he knew without any doubt that he was one of them as well.
