Authors that take FOREVER to write a book
So after about 10 years one of my favorite Authors, Jean M Auel, has decided to release what is 'appearantly' the last book of The Earth's Children series of six, on which I grew up on. Now, don't get me wrong, I am am curious about it, simply because I've wanted a conclusion to the storyline she started.
The first book, The Clan of The Cave Bear was published in 1980, The Valley of Horses in 1982, The Mammoth Hunters 1985, The Plains of Passage in 1990 & The Shelters of Stone in 2002. So as you can see, between the last three books there is QUITE a wait and so her fans have got very bored during that time and wrote loads of fanfiction, so much so, that the 5th book in the series bored the crap out of me, and I vowed not to get excited about the ending of the series IF she ever finished it!.
But now the six book, Land of the Painted Caves is due out March next year and I'm very tempted to read it, I'm almost excited about it, but I know where excitement got me last time.
Has anyone else ever had this sort of experience before?
