Nice on the outside, mean on the inside?

I read an article in a past issue of Cleo yesterday during lunch. I found that sometimes people have mean thoughts as a reaction of external factors around them. For example, wishing someone who is dying to be dead already is a reaction from the person who feel helpless because that person is sick and dying and there's nothing you can do to help. Another example would be feeling tempted to steal something from the host's house during a party can sometimes be a reaction from being neglected or ignored by the hosts themselves.

I have mean streaks and I do have mean thoughts. I used to think that I'm crazy but when I read that article, I was relieved as it's actually normal for us to feel that. In order to deal with those mean thoughts, we must find the cause of it and try to deal with it. I had to admit, my mean thoughts are reactions to what happened to me.
