Day 2

Jun 23, 2019 14:46

Think of three people in your life. Give your character the hair and laugh of person 1, the face and bedroom of person 2, and the wardrobe and mannerisms of person 3. This is your new protagonist. Feel free to give him or her any other characteristics you'd like. Give us an idea of who your character is by describing only the first 60 seconds of the character's day.

She groaned at the sound of the alarm clock. It wasn't shrill, like the others, but just being awakened by anything other than her own self was groan-worthy. 'Think positive,' she thought, automatically but groggily reminding herself to stay positive lest the Law of Attraction trap her in a cycle of negativity for the remainder of the day. She swatted blindly to her right just over her nightstand until she was able to smush the button to stop the twinkling of the clock. With a slight stretch via the flex of her back muscles, she shook off the weight of the previous night's sleep and lugged her legs off the side of her hevy oak, queen-sized bed.

She could hear the programmable coffee pot sounding off downstairs in the kitchen, and took a mental note to drop by the nursing home to thank her mother for the thoughtful birthday gift on the way to work. Her feet carried her down the steps before her mind was awake enough to process that she was out of bed. She yawned as she poured a cup of coffee into her favorite oversized 'Queen B' coffee mug. She caught a glimpse of her face mid-yawn and was startled, thinking someone else's crescent-shaped eyes and relaxed blonde hair were staring back at her. She busted out in a throaty, goofy chuckle when she realized there was no such extra person there. "Woo, Lord I'm so crazy," she said aloud.
