What is Love?

I was in the middle of my boredom mode while reading though a friends journal. All he talks about is, well was love. How he loved someone, and it never worked out. How they loved him and tore his heart out of his chest. All he did was bitch and moan about htese girls, and how they had treated him. When it was over, he would be like screw them. Then talk about how much they meant to him. That is the problem with teenagers. They think that any relationship they are in is based on love. Sorry, but that is not how it should be. Show me one relationship that is based on love, and work compleately, and i will show you a sham. There is no such thing as a love based relationship. The onoly thing that comes close to that is courtly love. Where the gallant knight falls in love with the princess. He tries his best to be with her, but only manages to stay in her shadow. Why? He is obliged to the code of chivalry. A knight can not be with someone. He can only look on as she finds love in another and he is forced onto the backburner. Here is the one case in which a relationship works when it is based on love. So, what is love? Can we really be in love? At what point does one's feelings become love? Why do we love? Maybe i am just overthing this, but it just fries me to see people hurt over "love". A concept that i believe that no human can compleatly have. We tell ourselves that we love someone, almost force it upon ourselves. After days, or months of tellign ourselves that we begin to believe it. That is when we get hurt. The lesson her kiddies is that do not fall in love with someone if there is no base. A realtionship based on love is like a house built on sand. Sure it is pretty, and works. But, come that first storm, or little sprinkle the foundation will crack. The next think you know you will be on the outside dumbfounded trying to figure out what happened. Alas, it is in our nature to do this. Hmmm, nevermind me. Just random thought that plauge my mind sometimes have to find their way out.
