Summary: When one wakes up and the other is still asleep
Taekwoon was still asleep when Hakyeon woke up. He sat up slowly and carefully so he wouldn’t wake up the other boy. He liked watching Taekwoon sleep, his face was so calm and peaceful. The way his hair stood up and his skin was slightly exposed because his shirt had slid down his shoulder and the blanket was half on the floor and half over his legs, wanted Hakyeon to hug him and hold him close. Moments like these reminded him that he was older than Taekwoon and he always felt the sudden urge to protect the younger one. He didn’t know particularly from what, but he knew that Taekwoon was so precious to him that he couldn’t stand the thought that something could ever possibly harm him. Hakyeon quickly wrapped his arms around the sleeping boy. Taekwoon stirred a little in his sleep but didn’t wake up. Hakyeon buried his nose in Taekwoon’s soft hair and drew circles onto Taekwoon’s naked shoulder. Suddenly Taekwoon shifted a little and Hakyeon turned his head to meet the boy’s sleepy eyes. They both didn’t say a word, but just looked each other in the eyes and there was a warmth that filled Hakyeon up to his fingertips that still lingered on Taekwoon’s shoulders. Finally Taekwoon raised his hand and let his finger trail over Hakyeon’s chin, his lips turned up into a soft smile and then he gently pulled Hakyeon down. Their lips moved slowly and in synch, then Hakyeon pulled slowly back. He didn’t say a word as he leaned back and snuggled up into Taekwoon’s arms, a place he fit in so perfectly as if it had been created for him. Taekwoon placed his cheek onto Hakyeon’s head and listened to Hakyeon’s calm breath. Taekwoon liked that they didn’t need to talk to understand each other. In a few minutes they would get up and have breakfast and talk about their day, but for now there were no words needed. For now it was enough to feel the other’s heartbeat so close to one’s own.

Hakyeon know he doesn’t work today, but he has to do this before he loses the nerve. His hands are jittery as he walks into the coffee shop, skin prickling from the change in temperature.
It’s a risk, leaving everything up to a chance like this-or rather, leaving everything up to the employees to not only see it for what it is, but to make sure he gets it. It’s a leap of faith, leaving the frosted rose behind with a card addressed to “Taekwoon” and trusting he’ll find it and maybe even be interested in his “secret admirer.” It’s safer, leaving the place before anyone realizes he placed it on the counter and walked out the door without ordering anything.
His hands are trembling in his pockets and he can’t go back now. His stomach is a knotted pool of uncertainty.
It’s exciting and scary, this concept of love.
