Here's the video portion of my concert recap! (My written recap's here.) I'm debating whether or not I'll actually share my pictures, but if I do, I'll make another post.

I'll be honest: the only reason I put the video up on YouTube publicly is because I saw a lot of people taking video during Janelle Monáe's set, but I only found one video actually on YouTube. Maybe my crummy video'll inspire people to upload better quality video. (Not that I'm holding my breath.)

Anyway.

My video

Huh. YouTube uploaded it in even worse quality than it recorded. Oh well, here it is regardless:

-Mayer Hawthorne doing a song. I mostly recorded it because the crowd was waving their arms; there were a lot more up before I started it, actually.

-Janelle Monáe doing "Smile". You can hear just how much the crowd was talking during this number. (Blah.) Also, I could see a lot better than the videos convey; my camera just doesn't have zoom.

-Janelle Monáe doing "Want You Back". This was a great number, and the video doesn't go anywhere near conveying it.

-Janelle Monáe doing "Cold War". This is the video where I'm making the most noise and the bounciest, although I tried to keep it to a minimum. A lot of the shaky was because my arms were exhausted at this point.

I also had about ten seconds of Bruno Mars's "The Other Side", but I was so far back that the only thing you could see of the stage was a sliver of the light, so it was pretty pointless.

Video by others

My YouTube prowling didn't turn up any Mayer Hawthorne videos. But here's some of the others I found. (There's quite a few Bruno Mars videos floating around, so you can search "Bruno Mars Reno" and turn up more, if you're curious.)

-Janelle Monáe doing "Tightrope". Although this mostly focuses on one of her dancers for some reason, it's still better visually than any of my videos. And it gives a really good view of the stage setup.

-Bruno Mars doing "Runaway Baby". I'm psyched that this one's so good; it's a way better view than I had, and it was one of his best performances of the night. The dancing!

-Bruno Mars doing "Grenade". (Warning: lots of screaming.) You can kind of hear the awesome trumpet.

-Bruno Mars harmonizing (I don't recognize the song) and singing "Marry You" and "The Lazy Song". I actually like "Marry You" more in the album version, but whatever, "The Lazy Song". It's probably the one I remember best from his set. Just beautiful.
