I can always tell my paid account expired/is about to expire when LJ screws up.
LJ is offering a link option to Twitter/Facebook that may have strong safety concerns. Although it's possible to opt out in the settings from automatically doing it to your posts - and of course, I was automatically opted in - there's no on-site way to hide the boxes from the comments, which could easily result in misclicks. Worse, people can crosspost comments, and possibly on locked posts. Imagine you're venting about some topic you don't want spread, and someone accidentally crossposts a very descriptive comment to Facebook. The one site worse about privacy/changes than LJ.
Equally as infuriating, but in a different way: any tags with / in them don't work. I don't know if it's a glitch or a purposeful change, but as someone who's spent literally days of time organizing my tags in my fic communities? I'm pissed. I'm hoping it gets fixed.
LJ's response in the next couple days will be very, very crucial to my decisions here. As it is, I'm thisclose to giving them the finger and flouncing forever. I won't, but they picked a bad day to heap this crap on me.

Edit again: Good news: the / error is apparently a glitch and will be fixed. Very, very bad news: comments on friend-locked posts do crosspost.
Again, I'm playing wait-and-see about this. But my frustration over the topic - combined with a lot of other not-so-good things in the last day - has killed most of my spoons, so I apologize to anyone I ducked out on conversation-wise. I'm going to write a little and get to bed. But I'll keep checking to see if there's any updates until I'm asleep, so I'll let you all know.
Edit yet again: I suppose this should go without saying, but please don't crosspost any comments made on my journal. I'll unfriend the offender, disable comments on LJ, and lock all my posts if that happens, but I really don't want to go through those steps, particularly if LJ fixes this mess in the near future.
