1. Comments. I sort of managed? I don't know what my deal is lately, but I only managed two-thirds of my inbox and a few flist/rlist entries, and that's the best I've done in weeks.
2. Monthly fic digest.
Completely done. I don't really see this as much of a victory - I had 90% of the post written for the last couple weeks - but yes, I managed.
3. Writing. This was specifically referring to fixing my BRBB stuff, which I did not do. But I did manage something:
"When I'm Gone" (

Supernatural, NC-17, 1000 words, Ruby/Lilith, for
Porn Battle XIIIDemons don't make tender, gentle love. That's not what Ruby's asking for when she bends knee to the demon inside the dental hygienist, bowing her head.
Happy early Valentine's Day! Have rough demon porn!
My original intention was to post the
Lesser Disaster sequel I've been writing for Valentine's Day (horny werewolves for Horny Werewolf Day!). But unlike its predecessor, the story is not writing itself and needs untangling that I don't have the time or brain power to do right now. No big deal.
So I started working on my BRBB story at the beginning of the month. And it was going along...except that it was really bland and not what I originally pictured and not quite as close to the art it's based off as I'd hoped. Or not close in the right ways, maybe. Certainly, I wanted the tone to be different, so I have to go back and restart the whole thing completely. (Never mind that the final draft's due two weeks from Wednesday.)
But instead of reoutlining and diving back in, I stopped writing completely for a little while. Considering how many deadlines I have? Bad. Very bad. I switched to my Werewolf Big Bang, and that's actually not going too badly, but it's also not what I need to do right now. And last night's work felt completely bland and uninspired, and instead of the 1000+ words I've been getting every day, I got something like 150, so I figured it was time to take a break there, too. (Looking back at it now, I think I was just having a bad day. Either way, time away isn't a bad thing.) I figured today would be the day I would reoutline.
...except I kept procrastinating.
Earlier, I was doing my Internet rounds, feeling generally unhappy with myself and life, when I ran into
oxoniensis's
latest post about Porn Battle. Or no, I saw that
marina had
posted a Steve/Tony/Loki Porn Battle story, and then I remembered
oxoniensis's latest post about how this round was about to end, and I thought, "Huh. Really tight deadline, lots of (vague*) prompts and fandoms to choose from, a comment fic meme (which I'd never done and one in particular I've always wanted to do), and mindless porn. I can work with this."
*I'm always convinced the stories I write for prompts, particularly very detailed prompts, suck. It's why I so frequently work on Big Bangs off my own ideas, and why much smaller stories for charity auctions or Yuletide or a Reverse Big Bang give me ten times the trouble.
I immediately went to the bandom prompts, but there weren't as many as I would have thought, and none of them sparked my fancy. (Probably for the best, considering the three stories I was talking about above? All bandom.) Afterward, I remembered
this Ruby/Lilith post I reblogged on Tumblr the other day, and how I mulled in the tags about what an interesting pairing it could be. The only Ruby/Lilith prompt worked perfectly with my head canon, so blam! Fic!
That's my day. How was everyone else's?
