Attention, fannish types: I'm moving my fanstuff to dreamwidth and will eventually leave this journal for non-fannish friends use. It's currently in WIP so don't mind the mess.

Whatever remains here will remain here, just probably collecting the internet equivalent of dust bunny orgies.
Since you may not know me, here's some vague, basic info. I go by Mel, and I'm a fine art major (sculpture) at a major state college in NC, with a technical theater minor. (I know, two BFAs, I'm insane.) I'm a returning adult student and a bit of an old fogey compared to my peers.
What you're going to find here is a blend of miscellaneous fandom stuff and personal whingeings, although I tend to keep the personal stuff f-locked so innocents don't have to read about the boring stuff I did in the ceramics studio today.
I write fic as a creative pursuit that doesn't involve sculpting and right now I write only for the Inception fandom. My favorite characters are Eames, Arthur and Ariadne, and I ship them in any combination up to and including OT3.
My mainstay is gen fic, although I write smut on an occasional basis and crack and fluff on an even rarer basis. My current project is the third part of the Parlor Tricks timeline/arc, titled The Bullet Catch. It's a fairly dark, gritty take on the extraction world post-movie and is going to rack up quite the body count, and I'm currently about 13000 words into a 60k word fic.

So, I've noticed that a lot of fanfiction writers have very little firearms knowledge. That's not really something that I hold against them. Not everyone lives where guns are legal, and not all of the writers with access to firearms actually wish to go out to a range and try some out.
This tutorial is for those folks.

All Your Love Is Revenge, NC-17 - This is a fic about Eames’ musical taste, Arthur’s apparent lack of musical taste, and what happens when Arthur decides to give Eames a taste of his own Lady GaGa medicine. PWP.
Je me lance vers la gloire, PG - Ariadne likes to observe the people she works with. Sometimes she even draws little portraits of them when she’s waiting for the glue to dry, and this story is about Eames discovering her drawings of Arthur, and about her discovering Eames’ affection for Arthur.
Looking for Diversions - 33 - At the Carlton George, NC-17 - Eames and Arthur are on some pre-job downtime in Glasgow and decide to hit up the Craigslist personals for some no-strings attached sex. Except, one of them answers the other’s advert… and much embarrassment ensues. PWP with a side of character study.
You Can Feel My Lips Undress Your Eyes, NC-17 - A sequel to the above very racy Craigslist fic, covering what actually happens during the Glasgow job. Plotty smut with typically Eamesian genderbending. There will probably be a sequel to this one too.
I'd Move Heaven Behind Those Eyes, NC-17 - I have no idea how the Craigslist fic spawned its own series, but considering there's three fics in that timeline at this point... This is Eames/Arthur, fairly PWP for the series, and um, rather naughty. Read at own risk.
Chasing My Damage, NC-17 - The Craigslist series gets serious and angsty, and we finally find out what Arthur has been running from all this time. Eames/Arthur, Arthur/Eames-forging-Mal, and implied Arthur/Mal romance.

Parlor Tricks, PG-13. - It has been ten months since the inception job. Eames and Arthur perform an extraction for Saito in Singapore, but the subject is not who they originally anticipated it to be, nor is the job as straightforward (or safe!) as it seems. Mostly gen, some slash overtones.
