Or maybe it's from that alternate world where Mikey Way is the hotass lead singer of My Chemical Romance, and his brother Gerard is the awkward chubby bassist lurking in the background. Mikey has always been the scene queen of the party since the very early days, commanding attention with enigmatic smiles and brooding eyes. Gerard is just the artsy hermit brother in the basement - he's just... not in that scene. When Mikey forms a band though - Gerard is in, because he's Mikey's brother and he's always there to take care of him. Gerard learns bass to be in Mikey's band, and he knows he sucks but Mikey hugs him and tells him he's the best brother ever so it's all right.
Mikey and Frank get into all kinds of stagegay shenanigans, and Gerard always tries to look away, he really does, but it's kind of hard with that ginormous crush he has on Frank. But Frank would never really notice him when he has Mikey, would he? Gerard is just that awkward chubby kid next to his charming brother. Maybe that's part of the reason he runs off with Bert - Bert pays attention to him instead of Mikey - that's strange and flattering. It's easier not to be in the spotlight anyway - everyone focuses on Mikey when he has those epic emotional breakdowns that almost break up the band, and no one really notices Gerard's little drinking problem.
