1. Name: Kathy 2. Date of birth: May 12, 1978 3. Where you live: SE Portland 4. What makes you happy: curling up with a good book, playing with dogs, exploring the outdoors, cuddling with husband 5. Currently listening/the last thing you listened to: an Old Blind Dogs CD 6. Do you read my journal?: Yup! 7. If yes, what makes it especially good or bad?: I enjoy it since it's giving me a chance to get to know you better. 8. An interesting fact about you: I'm in an African marimba band. 9. Are you in love/do you have a crush at the moment?: I recently married the love of my life. 10. Favorite place to spend time: Home? Yosemite? Kauai? on a hiking trail? on the water? That's a tough one. 11. Favorite lyric: Okay, it's not necessarily my favorite song, but I couldn't pin down just one lyric, so here's an entire song:
This is a special love song for all the young people in the world Here's hoping someone kind watches over each and everyone Because in every young face, no matter how angry or sad Lies the blossom of a pure heart, not evil, wrong or bad So if you have a young child, be gentle, wise and kind And treat them like an orchid, so rare and hard to find Your love will be like water to all the seeds you sow For they are the fair flowers in life's garden where they grow And if you know the old folks, be gentle, wise and kind Their souls will soon depart us and leave this world behind They've given us the future, they've taught us what they know To soon become a part of God's kingdom where they go This is a special love song for all the people in the world
12. The best time of the year: Fall RECOMMEND 1. A film: Rivers and Tides - it's a documentary on Andy Goldsworthy. 2. A book: The Onion Girl or the Time Traveller's Wife. Both are excellent books that I enjoyed immensely. 3. A band, a song, or album: I'd recommend Black Sheep or Live Wide Open by Martin Sexton. He's a great musician with one of the most talented voices I've ever heard.
PLUS 1. One thing you like about me: Your smile and ability to make good conversation. 2. Two things you like about yourself: I'm employed (I had self esteem issues when I was out of work) and I have many, many wonderful friends. 3. Look at my friends-list and tell what you like about one of our mutual friends: abrichar is an amazing, talented and witty woman. 4. Put this in your journal so that I can tell you what I like about you. Perhaps...
