So I've come to the end of my first round of new commissions. I'm not quite ready to open up for more, but I do want to get some feedback on what I will be offering, and for how much.
Firstly, Compare
the original sample images I did with

Cats don't really tickle my fancy though, on the cat painting piece. And I think it would be a little weird to offer those of people's characters or whatever, it just feels like a standalone piece and not something 'memeable'.

And the dark paper is awesome!
If you still want to do art for money and are worried about missing out on people with low budgets, try offering icons or TinyArt of some kind?

I would like to keep a TinyArt option open most of the time, though, so I suppose I should work on that!
THANK YOU!

For me, I'm usually willing to toss around up to $20 for spontaneous "for fun" items. It's not a lot, but most items over the $20 mark need more consideration before purchase (or those funds are used for more specific/serious ideas I want to get done).
Hope this little tidbit of feedback helps!

I know this is terribly under-priced. My agency has been charged $500 for simple comics like you'd see in the political section of a newspaper.
It's a balance of three things:
1. what can you afford to do for the money...
2. how little money can you charge before the commissions make you feel miserable...
3. how much can/will your fans pay...
I have no idea how those items add up for myself. Best to just advertise yourself like crazy and let the new flow of customers help you set a new standard.

I love that pic and the whole idea. It reminds me of that book "why cats paint" <3
