Yes, yes and possibly. That theory is as good as any. The music changes depending on the road or the city, but it's always there. The best you can hope for is finding one you do not mind too much.

So if the happy happy cheerfulness of this place doesn't get to me, the music will.

Wonderful. As if this lame-o world...dimension...whatever couldn't get any dumber, it adds its own permanent soundtrack.

And during the last weekend of October, it had its own permanent, distorted and screechy soundtrack, to match the screechy, distorted world. It almost made us appreciate the usual songs.

Everything was blocky and in only twenty or so colors, the locals and the Pokémon suddenly lost any signs of personality, the roads were suddenly much shorter... The whole of Johto looked completely unnatural, and the music did not help.

It was an excellent travel opportunity, at least. And it came without the temporary amnesia.
