I'm going to mess with the rules a bit. My first entries on the list are going to be my three favorite characters and all my favorite ships involving them. If I don't do that, my list is all either the Doctor or Spike and I wouldn't even get to any other favorite ships. *g*
1. Doctor Who
Nine/Rose and Ten/Rose
I enjoyed their relationship right from Rose until Journey's End.
Ten/Master
John Simm and David Tennant. Need I say more? I just wish they more screen time together. Heck, they could have even just talked on the phone a few more times. That would have been good.
Ten/Donna
I actually like that this one all subtext. It's made very clear in the show that they are friends only. And that means that fanfic can supply all my ship needs without any friction with the onscreen ship.
Four/Romana
I like him with both Romanas, however the chemistry with Romana II was obviously stronger. *g*
2. BTVS/AtS
Spike/Willow
A lot of fanfic of these two has Spike dominant over sweet, innocent Willow. Yeah, no. If they ever got together, Willow would be cracking the whip, perhaps literally.
Spike/Buffy
The end of Smashed was one of the hottest things ever to show on my tv. Even Seeing Red didn't kill my love of the ship. I enjoyed every twisted development. I just wish it hadn't petered out in Season 7.
Spike/Angel (only when both are souled though)
I didn't get on this ship until Season 5 of AtS and have no interest in the two of them before that. It was Destiny that got me. Until Spike could beat him at least once, I couldn't ship them.
3. Battlestar Galactica
Kara/Leoben
She tortures him, he imprisons her, she kills him over and over. It's dark, twisted, and damn hot.
Kara/Lee
They love each other but can't help hurting each other. I don't know if they'll work it out and I don't know if I even want them to, but I've enjoyed watching them.
4. John Crichton/Aeryn Sun - Farscape
I tended to go on and off on Farscape. It was John/Aeryn that would bring me back. I loved the two Johns storyline and cursed Scifi for canceling the show on that damn cliffhanger.
5. Peter Carlisle/Natalie Holden - Blackpool
What other ship has a sex scene with the participants singing 'Skweeze Me Pleeze Me?'
6. John Thornton/Margaret Hale - North and South
The scene when he's begging her to please to look back just tears my heart out. I was about sitting on the edge of my seat at the end waiting for them to kiss.
7. Wesley/Liliah - AtS
"Don't be thinking about me when I'm gone." "I wasn't thinking about you when you were here." Hot, hot power games sum up this couple.
Honorable Mentions:
Ten/everyone else Those up there are my favorites, but I really like him with anyone
Spike/Drusilla Drusilla's insanity drove me nuts sometimes (*g*) but they were hot together
Buffy/Faith The only slash relationship that I can see Buffy in
Cole/Phoebe Awful show but that ship kept me watching for a season and a half
Ned/Chuck They're just so cute together
