Day 19 - Robert Carlyle on set of SGU

We are currently running about finishing the cookies, packing our stuff, and cleaning up before we head out to visit Jay's family for Christmas. I will definitely be around in between family events! They are lovely people but there is only so much family I can take. :D

What the heck are they doing to him and why does he have an IV?

I seem to remember at least one episode where he had to have surgery and he got beaten on a lot so I can understand the need for an iv but I'm not sure which episode it would be.

As for what they are doing to him, it looks like fixing his makeup for the scene - probably so his injuries match.

But looks like there's a fake torso on him. I was wondering what that's about. Maybe they mark it with the actual spots where it will be on him?

Hmmm. I thought it was just a cover so they didn't get the rest of his clothing marked up by accident. But maybe it is a map of sorts.

love this photo. little glimpse behind the scene. sometime we forgetting about this part of actor's work. not only playing before camera or on the stage, but also endless time of makeup and work with costumes, and just waiting for their scene to begin.

Yep, it is a lot of set up and a little bit of acting when working on tv. Which may be part of the appeal of stage since once you're done with rehearsals its all acting all the time.
