So sorry! Didn't mean to support or start any sort of riot; I don't rush art, I promise! Just, you know, encourage...

First pic - David looks unhappy! I am sure this is unrelated to his kilt...

I do note that (aside from the leather!kilt) John Barrowman seems the only fellow in differing tartans.

Oh, David and Billie just fit together in that pic. I'm sure it's born of having spent a lot of time together and an actor's ability to 'pose' these days - each of them knows just which bits to tilt etc., her nail color off sets perfectly...sigh.

Ewan is casual and then arty here - an interesting combination/interpretation.

Leather. With a pink shirt. I am confused...Ah, that's better. Good job!

John Barrowman gesturing grandly is hilarious. I only know him as Jack and so fill in Torchwood sorts of things whenever I see him.

James Macavoy I am also fairly unfamiliar with, but he clearly has a good sense of humor.

Ah, I had to look this up SLJ plus Robert Carlyle. The Black Watch tartan perhaps?

SLJ plus Carlyle in a film called Formula 51 - bizarre, but worth seeing for the kilt, and a certain bathtub scene :-)

Loved Butler in leather, with a sword and a scabbed knee to boot - manly :-) And MacGregor, and MacAvoy, and Tennant! OMG, Tennant - he was born to the tartan.

And Carlyle, of course, with and without plaid.

*sigh*

Yes, the bathtub scene. *cough* I may have watched it more than once.

David hasn't worn his kilt lately and I miss it! It goes so well with his long and lean form. Yum.

And unfortunately Robert never wears one so the only pictures I have for him are from a movie. He thinks he doesn't have the legs for one and I would have to disagree!

I sputtered out loud upon reading that Robert Carlyle thinks he doesn't have the legs to wear a kilt. As if! Just because he's short(er), doesn't mean he doesn't have a great form.

Very nice! Didn't know there were so many famous Scots out there.

I once also saw a picture of David Duchovny in a kilt in a journal.

Personally, I like (and always giggle about) this picture of my two favourite men:

There are many more - these are just some of my favorites! I did see some David Duchovny when I was looking as well.

Heh. That is a fun graphic. :)

You know, for me it is a bit more difficult to realize who is a Scot and who isn't, as TV series and movies in Germany are all dubbed. So I need to watch DVDs to get the original language, but I can't do it with all of them. Therefore, I didn't even know David Duchovny was a Scot, as he usually speaks German ;)

The first time I really listened to someone speaking with a Scottish accent (that was before I became a JB-fan) was Paul McGillion on "Stargate: Atlantis".

I have to come to really love the language, and never understood why people thought it hard to understand - but I recently had to realize that JB's Scottish usually is a bit tamed for TV. As I do have a hard time to understand what he is saying at the recent Glasgow concert, which can be found fully on youtube. His family was there, and aside from singing he did a lot of jokes and comedy. I am not sure how much I will understand at his panto in January, then ;)

I also just found this short video with David Tennant in a kilt, thought you might like it: Reply

Thanks for the vid! It can be tough to tell who is Scottish for me as well. American Scots well they just sound/ look like Americans. And actual Scots are always taking roles where they don't sound Scottish. *looks at David Tennant*

You should hear Robert Carlyle's untamed accent. You can just about chew on it it's so thick.

Oooh, more nice piccies! But could you please also write the names to them? I am not sure who the first two are. But at least I recognize the last two.

Kiefer Sutherland, really? And I just learnt something new again. Sometimes I am really out of the loop.

I am totally incoherent right now! And possibly sitting in a puddle of *something* although my brain is too fried to tell. Thanks for that! And Robert--your legs are lovely, show them off!

In our family there are many different tartans that seem to be appropriate if you include the national tartans, the Irish clan tartan and the Scottish clan, not to mention the formal variations. There are also some clan-specific accessories and sometimes the guys will mix them up so they cover everyone. Not sure if that's "legal" though!.

As far as I'm concerned they can wear whatever tartan they want! Even if they mix clans in their outfits. So long as they are wearing a kilt. :D
