Chocolate Bark

For Christmas presents this year I decided the food gifts should be chocolate bark and caramel/chocolate popcorn. I'll be posting my recipe for the popcorn soon but right now I wanted to talk about the chocolate bark. Mmm, chocolate bark. I made that as gifts last year. Made a basket of goodies for my old co-workers and for the staff at our chiropractors who took such good care of us. Noone to really make that stuff for this year sadly.

Chocolate bark isn't anything I'd done before. Which is half the reason I decided to make it. Jay wanted me to make my candied lemon peels again but I wasn't into it. I love trying new things.

Maybe next year once you've settled in more. *hugs*

erm, for those of us outside the US (since I'm guessing this is an American term) what exactly IS chocolate bark?

Well, it's basically what you see in the picture. It's chocolate which has been melted and had things - such as crushed hard candy, nuts, dried fruits - pressed into it while it is still soft. It's called bark because it rather looks like tree bark, all rough and bumpy. And it's yummy! :D
