Thank you,
green_maia, for the otter! She's adorable. :D
This is my life now: snow and painting. Yep, it's snowing again. Another nor'easter though I don't know how intense they're saying it's going to be since I haven't had time to look at the weather today. Because I'm painting! Day 5 I think we're at. This is what happens when two people with perfectionist tendencies decide to paint a room. *sigh*
However, we did switch to a lighter blue (one shade up - I wanted two and Jay wanted what we had so we compromised) and it's lovely! Think President Obama's tie in the State of the Union. That's basically the color. Jay didn't want to budge but I spend all night on Monday dreaming that the color was too dark and that I had to repaint the kitchen so I insisted. *g* I couldn't go through that again! He has come around now and loves the color too.
But enough about paint. I'm bored with it so I'm sure you are too. One side effect of tearing apart the kitchen is that we have been eating in the living room (usually forbidden!) and watching movies during dinner. Not exactly good for getting Chicklet to eat since she gets very involved in watching but but quite good for getting Chicklet to see some new shows. She generally has a comfort zone of things she's seen before and doesn't like to stray.
This week we've watched: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, Aladdin, and Finding Nemo. Each movie has been punctuated by sobbing, needing mommy hugs, and hiding behind a blanket. After which we'd ask her if it was TOO SCARY and she would say no and that she liked the scary parts. *g* Harry Potter was the favorite - not a surprise since she's been reading the books with daddy. She also loved Finding Nemo (though we had to skip through the mommy dying scene - what do they have against moms?).
As for tv once Chicklet went up to bed, we watched Castle and Lie to Me last night. Awesome! Both of them! I'm so sad that LtM only has one more episode left. *sniff* It did have really good ratings -- the best in a year -- so I have hope but I acknowledge that this could easily be the end.
Castle
Kiss! Yes, it was for 'plot' reasons but they obviously enjoyed it! I want fallout and I want more kisses. *nods firmly* I know that she's in a relationship and that could be continued for a while but I really don't want them to go the Bones route of roadblock after roadblock until no one cares any more. Actually I don't have much of an opinion on whether they should get together but I will be upset if they make the Beckett/Castle relationship strained and weird. And the kiss was nice...*g*
Lie to Me
Very old school Lie to Me with more focus on the science and on everyone solving the case. But it's better than the early episodes since we now have so much more background on Lightman which they can work into the story. For Cal it always comes down to family. I loved the scene of him talking to the son about abusive fathers (I think Cal won that debate) and his advice to the father. Also, I loved that Anna got a little character development in the episode. It makes sense that she would pick things up even though she doesn't work as a lie expert.
