Lie To Me & White Collar

For anyone who would like a Much Ado About Nothing DVD to be made, there is a petition that you can sign! Go sign it and show your support! They may not want to do a DVD but it doesn't hurt to try and let them know there is a market for it.

Lie to Me - Saved

Total and complete misdirection in the trailer from last week. *g* It made it look as though Cal threw himself in front of a car just so he could get a read on his suspect. Instead he was just driving along chatting with Emily when they decided to mess with him. Cal was just as annoying and grumpy with a concussion as you would expect. And as a bonus he got to mess with Emily's plans to see her boyfriend.

Tim Roth said he was toning down the mannerisms and you can really tell in this episode. He's still fidgety but not too much any more. Which is good since it allows us to focus on the episode and on his acting!

Overall it was a good, solid plot with a nice twist that they built up to little by little -- which means it wasn't a complete surprise but I like it better if I can look back on the clues and put it together.

Also, there was excellent father and daughter dialog:

Lightman: It was just a knock to head.
Emily: There is no such thing as "just a knock to head" at your age.
Lightman: Where did you get that mouth?

Lightman: What were we talking about?
Emily: Don't be a plonker.
Lightman: You get that mouth from me girl, don't you forget it. Hey Em, this book's in French!

I seriously love their relationship and I'm so happy that Emily's role on the show has gotten bigger over the years. ♥

White Collar - Burke's Seven

Yay, it's back! \o/ Neal being sharply dressed, Mozzie being suspicious (I knew he wasn't dead!), Peter being all sexy and lawful, and Elizabeth once again showing us that she's a BAMF. She needs to not take any more time off to have what I'm sure are adorable children. The show is unbalanced without her! *loves Elizabeth* Though I do wonder just what that man's wife/girlfriend is going to think about his wooing attempts. *g* I hope she was only a little bit angry with him.

And now we have new mystery - who is Vincent Adler and what does he want? Luckily it looks as though we'll get a few of the answers next week.

Also, I'm quite happy to see Sara Ellis again. I liked her last time and I look forward to seeing her as a recurring character. Kate's gone and Neal needs someone to flirt with. (other than Peter and Elizabeth)

I wondered about the horse and whether he knew how to ride and found this interview:

Q. You are horseback riding in the return episode. Is that something you’ve done before, or was it just on the moment this is what you’re going to do in this episode?
A. No, I’ve done that before. I don’t know what the final cut is but there was a lot of running the horse through Central Park. I used to ride when I was younger from like the age of eight until I went to college, but then I hadn’t ridden for about 20 years. I knew the episode would be riding so they were nice enough to say, “Let’s go out to upstate New York and you can ride and as the saying goes, get back on the saddle.” I did and it was great. The next day I could barely get out of bed my legs were so sore. My inner thighs-they were just killing me. I’ll cut to the day we’re shooting, I also had a bit of a cold coming on so there was just this moment where I realized, “Okay, I should take something for my cold,” because I was a bit stuffed up, “and I also should probably take something for my thighs because they were killing me.” I took everything at the same time and there was a moment where I was on the horse and they were about to say action and I had to run the horse under a bridge up over this hill. I was so woozy, I did everything I could just to stay on it. I thought for sure the medicine was just going to knock me out, I thought I was just going to pass out right on Pippin, that was the name of the horse. Hee.
