Top Five Men of 2010 -- Picspam

Dec 25, 2010 16:13

Tis the time of year to start thinking about top 5 and best of lists! Accordingly I came up with my top 5 men of the most recent year since such a list lends itself to a picspam of prettiness and you all know that I love a picspam of prettiness. These are men I discovered, rediscovered, or continued to love in 2010. I was going to go for a top 10 list but, upon thinking about it, I reminded myself that I tend to stick with what I like and not have a new favorite every month. :D

5. Benedict Cumberbatch, Kenneth Branagh, and Nathan Fillion

Here are three men who starred in three roles that caught my attention this past year. Cumberbatch as Sherlock, Branagh as Wallander, and Fillion as Castle. Kenneth Branagh is the only one of the three that I had been a fan of before though it's been a while since I've given him much thought. However, he was amazing as Wallander and I'm very much looking forward to the next set of episodes. Sherlock and Cumberbatch were as brilliant as everyone said and, as with Wallander, I'm looking forward to the next series. As for Castle, it's like a warm, happy hug of a show. One that I hope never achieves much in the way of angst because we all need a show that makes you happy when you turn it on.

4. Timothy Hutton

Timothy Hutton isn't an actor that I had thought about for a good many years. As Nate Ford though, he is very appealing to me. He has issues. He's brilliant. And he's known for being a bit of an asshole (which he's working on and even learning to apologize occasionally). Combine that with a well written show, the rest of the cast that I love as well, some excellent acting on Hutton's part, and you have a character (and an actor) for me to love.

3. John Simm

The Master would be enough for me to love John Simm but add in Sam Tyler and Cal McCaffrey and you have my second most picspammed actor. He also sets the tone for the top three: gorgeous, British, and a ferociously good actor. (Perhaps you notice a theme here. Simply being pretty isn't enough; I need to LOVE the acting. Also, I apparently have a thing for British men. It's probably good for my marriage that I live over here. *g*)

2. Tim Roth

Tim Roth is an actor I had managed to never hear of until this year but he has moved up in the ranking very quickly! ♥ It's fun to have a new character to put on my most favorite characters EVER list and a new actor whose work I've barely begun to watch. \o/

1. David Tennant

I doubt my first place choice is a surprise to anyone! Who else could it be? What else can I say about David Tennant other than that I absolutely love him? Well, I can say to enjoy the pretty. *g*
