Winter Is Going to Fun This Year
Well, it's been an interesting morning so far!
Point 1 - We all overslept and instead of getting up at 7, we all woke up at 8!
Point 2 - It's snowing out! Not too much, only a couple of inches, but we're at the freezing point so the snow is sticking to the roads and building up into icy patches. Fun for the whole family! Also, our tiny, steep street has yet to be plowed and even the bigger, more traveled streets had not been plowed at 9am. (when Chicklet goes to school)
Point 3 - Even though no one thought to plow the streets around here, school was indeed open! For a half day! So the kids get in buses and cars to make the slippery way to school (on unplowed roads) and then turn around and come home.
Point 4 - I don't have my snow tires on, so my car WOULD NOT make it up the street! It barely made it out of the driveway. Even though Jay is comfortable driving in snow, there was no way we were going to go in that car. When we told Chicklet it was going to be a snow day, she started crying! *sigh* So we got into the other car (with 4 wheel drive and better tires) and finally made it. Now it's turning to rain and the street is getting plowed (right this moment!), so it should be less of an adventure getting her home.
